This place is absolutely amazing! It's a small distillery based out of the heart of Sulphur, Louisiana! After working in SW LA for a few months, I decided to return for a special visit that included a trip to the distillery! The owner, Jameson, was very kind to answer any questions we had over the phone. We got to the home of the Yellowfin Vodka and were soon greeted by the only other employee in the company. While his name escapes me, mans gave us an incredible tour of the establishment! My friend Bri and I were thoroughly impressed with the taste of their product! We also really like the way that mans presented every aspect of their business to us. He let us sample some exclusive spirits that aren't even in the shelves yet! We felt like true kings. Next time, I'm getting one of the exclusive éditions that was made in collaboration with McNeese, the local university in Lake Charles. Anyways, great place. Great people. Great liquor.

The Grove is a wonderful park at Heritage Square in Sulphur, Louisiana. If you're traveling down I-10 and plan to blow past Sulphur (exit 20) on your way to Lake Charles, you'd be missing a lovely opportunity to rest from the road. Sulphur doesn't have much curb appeal. The exits are terrible looking and littered with the typical small town fastfood signs. But, if you take exit 20, head north just a couple of miles on Ruth Street you'll run right into Heritage Square and the Grove. Fountains. Oak trees. Pecan trees. Magnolias. Walking paths. Plenty of parking. Sulphur Parks & Recreation (SPAR) keeps this park in good shape! Ignore the way the exits look and take 15 or twenty minutes to stretch your legs at The Grove.
