Me and a couple of friends choose the Brambling Bus to go around Callander for a day. It was amazing, perfect road trip with a nice playlist. Sara is an amazing driver and Maciek loves history so be ready to know some good facts to bring home with you! They took us to Callander, we had a nice walk by the Bracklinn Falls and then headed back to town to grab some food at a nice local bakery (delicious homemade pies). We also stopped by a couple of their favorites spots (like the huge antique shop). It was an amazing day, I highly recommend traveling with them. They are lovely and enthusiastic people who love sharing their love and knowledge about Scotland. Thanks Maciek and Sara!

Freedom Tour Today was set up to welcome visitors to Stirling. Our priority is to give a warm welcome and to thank visitors for taking the time to remember Robert the Bruce, James Douglas and all those who fell at Bannockburn. The tour is based outdoor and covers the Scottish Wars of Independence, the Battle in 1314, the aftermath up to the current day. It had always amazed me the number of tourists that arrive, spend less than 10 minutes at the site of Scotland's greatest battle and then depart Bannockburn. I felt the story of the battle, why it was fought and how the Scot's were victorious deserved to be told. I shall entertain you with stories of the main characters and the small folk who influenced and took part in the battle. We also do a Stirling Bridge tour, the scene of William Wallace’s greatest victory. Freedom Tour Today is the perfect way to welcome visitors to the area and learn more about why so many people hold these historic sites and Scotland dear to their heart.

Freedom Tour Today was set up to welcome visitors to Stirling. Our priority is to give a warm welcome and to thank you for taking the time to remember William Wallace, Andrew De Moray and all those who fell at the Battle of Stirling Bridge. We shall look at the build up, the main characters involved in the battle as well as present-day initiatives aiming to commemorate the importance that the Battle of Stirling Bridge. We will go to the place called Loup of Fintry, which is one of the most spectacular waterfalls of the lowlands of Scotland. It is a place not very well known to public, it is not a tourist visited place, some locals might know it, but is definitely a hidden gem of Scotland. The route to this place takes you through some amazing countryside scenery that is really showing the true Scottish feeling of untouched nature in its raw beauty. Once we find the path to the waterfall, we'll go on a short hike on the meadows (might even be greeted by some friendly horses), until we start hearing the roaring sound of the water gushing down the cliffs. It is a spectacular sight even from far. upon arrival to the place, we'll go on an adventure, climbing down and discovering some of the hidden areas of the waterfall, so we can take a closer look and snap some story telling photos that we can show later on to our friends and family.

My friend surprised me with this adventure and I must admit this was once in a lifetime experience. I never ever was curious before visiting a forest at night time in the dark, but now I understand what I missed out on. We drove through some dark narrow country roads which had already an eerie feeling to it, but then we arrived to the forest and went on foot. The guide gave us some pretty powerful head torches which made things easier to navigate between the trees. The exciting part started when we had to descend into a gorge in the dark. It gave me a fright first when I saw the downward route but our guide was super experienced in terms of showing us every single and I mean Every single step. Like he knew the place with closed eyes or something. It was just so cool. Once we arrived to the gorge, you could hear the water gushing down between the rocks and just the sheer silence that went with it. We walked through the water barefooted and we spotted some really interesting looking fish, almost looked like a group of tiny eels. The biggest surprise of all was hearing some squeaky sounds and then some really cute otters appeared out of nowhere. I couldn’t believe my eyes! I would have never of thought seeing so many wildlife in the middle of the night. So so worth it ! I can highly recommend it as it is such a unique experience. Thank you and I hope to come back in the future.

Did you know that castles can be movie stars too? Doune Castle managed to play Castle Leoch in Outlander, Winterfell in Game of Thrones and Camelot in the classic Monty Python and the Holy Grail movie. But that's just the beginning! Have a dram (or a full tour) at Deanston Distillery, take a walk in picturesque Callander and discover great Scottish outdoors and Rob Roy's grave in Balquhidder. If you're a big fan of Claire and Jamie, you can get lost in the gardens of Versailles (well, actually Drummond Castle Gardens...), before we visit William Wallace at his monument and hear about his greatest victory. Hop on a perfect day trip with Brambling Bus - what are you waiting for?!

Some couples celebrate their 26th wedding anniversary with a romantic meal June and Cameron McCann decided to go for something different and on October 28th 2015 they distilled their very first bottle of Stirling Gin. Our Story Originally distilled in a 2.4 litre copper still, called Jinty, their spirit proved so popular that a bigger still was soon needed. Stirling Gin has grown into a nationally-recognised spirit. The Old Smiddy Now, more than 4 years, Cameron and June have found a permanent home for their creation. In 2019 they opened the city’s first legal distillery. Located in the shadow of Stirling Castle, the structure was first built in 1888. Legend tells us it was the site where King James V stabled his horses in the 1500s and when it was first built it acted as a local church temperance hall. It only seemed fair that it be the location for Stirling Distillery. With a visitor’s centre & shop Stirling Distillery has plenty to offer. Gin tours and tastings.

This is a product review rather than a tour review. I recently purchased a Gin pig to give as a gift but was really disappointed when I received it in the mail. The website does not have any dimensions of this item and it is REALLY small. I should've guessed by the description of 5CL but I didn't. Although the product is very well made - I am afraid it will not do for the birthday gift I had in mind which is a real shame as it was quite expensive for what it is. Should've just ordered a bottle of gin instead I think it is much better value.

We were very lucky to have William as our guide on this two and a half hour tour of the old town part of Stirling and the castle. Stirling is steeped in history and William was obviously very knowledgeable and passionate about this. His quirky sense of humour had us all chuckling and we enjoyed the experience very much.
