It was an awesome tour with lots of different food. Everything was included and you can also suggest food that you would like to try. It was only me who booked the tour for the evening and as a female traveller I felt safe and taken good care of. My guide was really polite and we had some nice conversations since he was really nice and his English was fine. It was a perfect tour to start my travels in Sri Lanka, to get an introduction to the local cuisine by a local and the best way to get to see the major sights of Colombo. Highly recommend!

We booked VTS Lanka for a custom tour of southern and central Sri Lanka and they were excellent. We wanted a driver to take us to all the different locations that we planned to visit while travelling round the country - Yala National Park, Ella and the hill region, Galle, whale watching in Mirissa etc. We arranged things with Vinodh by Whatsapp and the price quoted was amazing value - it included the cost of the activities we wanted to do, like safaris & whale watching, as well as a car and driver, who took us from place to place, showed us all sorts of attractions en route, and stayed the night nearby for the entire time, wherever we went. Our driver, Mr Rohan, seemed to know everything and everyone in Sri Lanka! If we wanted to stop for a bite to eat, he'd take us to a restaurant with a stunning view or overlooking a waterfall, for example. He took care of everything we needed during the trip, ie getting us seats on the fully reserved train from Ella through the mountains, and dealing with locals when we didn't understand. He was so friendly, reliable and smart, and was happy to take long detours to see interesting things. As a couple who are used to exploring places on our own and on foot, having a driver doing everything for us did take a bit of getting used to. Sometimes we just wanted to get to our hotel and explore on our own rather than be shown everything by car. But having a driver allowed us to see many amazing things that we would never known about or be able to get to via public transport. In the final few days of our trip, Mr Rohan took us to two of the most incredible viewpoints I have ever seen in my life, neither of which were in our Lonely Planet guide book. We would highly recommend VTS Lanka - they seem like a lovely team of people with connections all over Sri Lanka.

Pidurangala is a massive rock formation located a few kilometers north of Sigiriya in Sri Lanka. It has an interesting history closely related to that of the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Climbing to the top of Pidurangala Rock is more strenuous than climbing Sigiriya. If you are fit and adventurous it is a climb worth making. It will take you about two hours. There is far less to see on this site than Sigiriya

The hike to Knuckles Mountain range was well organised by Mahaweli Tours. We were provided with a good guide who knew his way about well and we felt safe throughout the trek. We were also looked after well and enjoyed the experience. There was fun and entertainment and chatter to keep us motivated to go up the mountains and we got to experience a nice cold waterfall bath too! 5 stars to both Prasad and Ajith for providing us with this experience.

Amazing cooking instructions. We learned how to make coconut King drink and how to break a coconut. We also learned that a fresh coconut is light in colour. We made a three course lunch and learned a lot about spices. We are very pleased to got the opportunity to do this activity. The teacher was very pedagogical and took us thru the receipts.

It was the best experience ever! Athula is not only a driver, but also a perfect tour guide! He showed us a looooot of beautiful and also hidden places, he told us about Sri Lankan culture and let us try the REAL Sri Lankan kitchen. He did his best to make our adventure special, despite the difficult times (COVID). We had so much fun together. Athula is a really friendly and good person and an amazing travel companion. we made two trips from Colombo to arugambay and back to Colombo within 3 days. Driver is really nice and safe. We were group of 6 and van has enough space for our luggages too. The park offers everything that is needed for an exciting safari. Great landscapes, many animals, especially elephants! We were very close to the elephants and were very lucky to be able to watch a whole herd and also some baby elephants. Furthermore, I would like to emphasize our tour guide - not only did he inspire and excite us with his very good mood, he also saw many small animals with his trained eye and answered our questions thoroughly. The 3 hours passed by in no time and gave us many nice memories. Would totally recommend booking a trip with these guys :-)
