Spišská Nová Ves ( pronunciation (help·info); is a town in the Košice Region of Slovakia. The town is located southeast of the High Tatras in the Spiš region, and lies on both banks of the Hornád River. It is the biggest town of the Spišská Nová Ves District (okres). As of 2006 the population was 38,357.

It is just paradice as it is in it's name. Beautifull nature, I recommend to start early in the morning, around 7:00, to enjoy the nature without many people. I am returning there for 15 years, and it is definitelly worth it :).

Un bel sentiero immerso nella natura così come la zona cicostante. Il tempo non ci ha permesso di farlo tutto ma la parte attraversata è stata molto bella, anche perchè in assoluta solitudine essedno partiti molto presto. Bisogna fare un pò di attenzione in qualche punto ma certamente non ci è sembrato avere una difficoltà elevata.

Krásne miesto plné histórie, krásnych pamiatok, umenia, ktoré stojí určite vidieť. Nechajte sa vniesť do histórie formou pekných a jedinečných expozícii v pamiatkach nadregionálneho významu. Oddýchnite si v krásnom francúzskom parku a vychutnajte si aj nejaké to zaujímavé podujatie, ktoré tam pre Vás pripravia. V kaštieli nájdete historický nábytok, funkčné historické hodiny, obrazy a kopec doplnkov. V letohrádku Dardanely sa nachádza jediná expozícia klávesových hudobných nástrojov na Slovensku a navyše aj krásna koncertná sála s výjavmi z gréckej mytológie.

The Levoca town has this historical and old charm that is difficult to describe. We simply felt in love with the town. The City Hall is the crown of the main square, but the rest of the buildings are also very beautiful. When we were there, a few local art craft booth were selling their products.

I didn't expect a lot from the ZOO but went there mainly because we had nothing to do while visiting the family in the area. I was very pleasantly surprised to see how nice and well kept it is. It's smaller than other ZOOs in Slovakia but in my humble opinion much better than ZOO in Bratislava or Bojnice (I haven't been to the Kosice ZOO yet).
If you are in the area, certainly do come and spend a pleasant couple of hours watching a good selection of animals.

We travelled to another place but the kids notice the beach and small boats.... so we stopped for 2.5 hours. Very nice place Nice boats Nice local people that handle it Very quite and we had fantastic time

Right in the middle of the town, this is one of top attractions of Levoca, the other being the old town hall. Second biggest church in Slovakia, with impressive tower. Visiting in two stages. Stage one: opposite main entry to the church there's a new town hall, where you buy your tickets to see St. Jacob's church inside - photos forbiden. Stage two: on the other side of the church, in old town hall there's tourist information office, where you buy your tickets to climb the church tower. Both stages on guided tours only (Slovakian language only), both on the hour every hour (roughly), both highly recommended, the church hosts tallest in the world wooden altar, made by Master Paul of Levoča, while the tower provides fantastic views over the whole area, and towards high Tatra Mountains - the tower is the tallest building visible.

If you go into the TI and ask about a tour of the tower of this lovely church, you can find the times that a guide will take you up. Our tour was in both Slovak and English, and the guide was very interesting and informative. The walk up involves stone steps, wooden stairs, and a metal ladder-like stair. It is well worth the huffing and puffing to get to the top for the fantastic view of the city and also the surrounding countryside.

Just finished the Sucha-Bela and wanted to go down in the long way. The hut is located on the trail high on the mountain. We were so grateful to sit inside and have some warm soup. "Menu" is very limited.

Ak máte možnosť, určite navštívte toto miesto! :)
Odporúčam v ktorúkoľvek dennú hodinu, v ktoromkoľvek ročnom období a za každého počasia :)
Miesto dobre prístupné z viacerých smerov, takže sa nemusíte vracať rovnakou cestou.
If you have the chance, you should definitely visit this place! :)
I recommend it at any time of day, in any season and every weather :)
This place well accessible from multiple directions so you do not have to return the same way.
