What to do and see in Southern District, Southern District: The Best Bridges

October 14, 2021 Renato Branum

Russia’s warmest region, South Russia covers a large area roughly bordered by the steppes in the north, the Caucasus Mountains in the south, Ukraine and the Black Sea in the west, and Kazakhstan and the Caspian Sea in the east. Long the blend of many cultures, the region is home to many interesting cities (like Volgograd, Derbent, Rostov-On-Don and Elista), several resort towns (like Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana), gorgeous outdoor areas (like Teberdinsky Nature Reserve), and a few national parks.

Crimean Bridge

Reviewed By sergeyk147

This is the longest bridge in Europe - 16.9 kilometers a road one and 18.1 kilometers a railroad one. Vasco da Gama bridge over the Tagus River in Portugal comes second and the third is also in Russia, over the Kama river (left tributary of the Volga river), in the Udmurt Republic. The famous Øresund Bridge between Denmark and Sweden is only the fourth longest today. Well done, Mr Putin! I crossed Strait of Kerch over this fantastic construction many times, the latest being in the beginning of April, together with my friend (he'd never seen it). So, it was just for fun. Fully completed, state-of-the-art, elegant. Toll-free, no stupid covid checkpoints, stunning views. Mind-blowing! Proud with my country!
