Doncaster Brewery & Tap

I can not recommend this pub highly enough. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and it’s the sort of place where everyone is made to feel welcome and wants to stay for just one more. Ian and Alison behind the bar are friendly and professional and know their beer. The craft beer is fantastic and wine and gin drinkers won’t be disappointed either.

The Union hotel

The Union Hotel A warm welcome is guaranteed when you first enter the Union, one of Sheffield's very finest traditional pubs dating back to the 1840's. You will not hear loud music and nor see televisions hanging off the wall. Instead you'll feel truly at home in a friendly atmosphere where people are talking and socialising whilst having a drink, this is the main order of the day. You'll be able to choose from a wide range of excellently kept cask ales and premium European lager. If spirit's is your choice you'll be able to select from a wide range, including a broad premium gin collection. This pub also serves great homemade food delivered by the friendly, helpful staff. If you want to eat and drink in a traditional English pub, then visit the Union. Once you've been, you'll come back again and again. The pub hosts a great general knowledge quiz every Monday night from 9.30pm, and a music quiz every first Wednesday of the month from 9.30pm also.

It just shows how many pubs Sheffield has that after nearly two years of discovering them, I hadn't been to this one. I really liked it- it is a proper no-nonsense boozer with charm and good beer. The sort of pub that I hope never disappears, otherwise we will have lost something important. Would be great to have as a local.

Crookes Social Club

Crookes Club is a Sheffield's premier live music and function venue. Rooms available from 50 to 500 people.

Crookes social club was the perfect venue for my recent 30th birthday party. All the staff were incredibly helpful and helped us set up the room how we wanted it. We were able to bring our own food and decorations (which were stored there the night before). The atmosphere at the club was great! We had our own music in the room (Maurice helpfully arranged a PA system for us), but there was also great live music in the main bar. I would thoroughly recommend this place for any party or gathering.

Called in for a quick pint and nearly missed the train home, working our way through the beers ! Lovely cosy pub, nice decor with a decent selection of beers. The Jewels in the Crown though were Melanie and Tracy behind the bar. No matter how busy it got, there was never a wait for a fresh pint.Talk to Tracy nicely and she'll russell you up a great chip butty too! Landlord, give these ladies a pay rise.
