If want a to take kids or grownups for a Christmas trip go to Bawtry Forest from picking your Christmas tree to eating a bacon bread cake or sausage or any combination to hot chocolate or tea.The friendly staff are there to help o yes the car park is free and about 50yards from the trees my advise is go there to start your Christmas of to a great start

A lovely little wood tucked away on the hillside. Favourite time of year is spring when there is a beautiful carpet of bluebells and the variety and volume of birdsong is impressive, but every season has its interests. Always wildlife to see including foxes, squirrels and deer. I visit at least weekly for a short walk or to get through to graves park to which it is connected.

Beautiful woods with signposted walks to the left and right sides of Whirlowdale Road. Lots of dog walkers. Sometimes you encounter horseriders as it has a bridle path. Small streams run through the woods and the sound of splashing water makes it more enchanting.
