What to do and see in Silom, Thailand: The Best Spas & Wellness

April 15, 2022 Fernanda Pittenger

Golden palaces, floating markets, majestic porcelain-laid spires…you've never seen a capital city quite like Bangkok. Visit Pratunam or Siam Square for premium shopping, then unwind in the European-style gardens of Dusit. Thon Buri is home to the awesome Wat Arun temple, and over in Phra Nakhon, you’ll find the Wat Pho temple of the Reclining Buddha. Savor mango sticky rice at a food stall before taking in the gilded splendor of the Grand Palace.

Recently whilst visiting Infinity Spa, Bangkok, Thailand for the first time, I experienced the most amazing 90 minute massage - Infinity Aroma Signature Treatment - and 30 minute Moisturizing Body Scrub. Everything about Infinity Spa is 5-star plus – the premises are luxurious, the staff are super friendly (an added bonus for me was being able to speak and understand English) and the extra special touches made for a truly wonderful experience – refreshing teas and sweet treats. Drifting off to the sounds of relaxing background music and the movement of April’s magic hands, I felt truly at peace and blissful. As someone who has regular massages in my home country (New Zealand) and when travelling, my experience at Infinity Spa rates as the “best massage” ever. Thank you to the Infinity Spa team, especially Benji, Marya J and April - you are amazing!!!

SPA by Le Meridien

Inspired by the rich traditions of European spa, SPA breaks away from how spa is viewed, reflecting the sophistication of today’s international traveler. As a world traveler and monthly massage person, I didn’t know what to expect in Thailand. But I was not disappointed Som is the best masseuse I have ever had, typically I can’t get a professional to place the pressure of the deep tissue I desire but Som took the cake, I honestly couldn’t believe it. The establishment is very nice and clean with great staff. My wife had a foot massage and pedicure and she love it as well. Thank you Som!!!

Some how my review is missing from W hotel. So, I rewrite is. The spa has 3 parts 1. Welcome area: when we arrived they served a refreshment drink and take survey for part to be concentrated and part to be avoided. Also, we can choose light of room for your own mood. we selected green for relaxation. 2. Complimentary area. If you arrive early and there is availability, you can use sauna and stream room as complimentary. And after the massage, you can use Jacuzzi & Hammans. You need to bring your own swimming suit to use the Jacuzzi 3. Spa / Massage time: Drain away is an oil massage. I took 90 mins massaging. The therapist I took did a very good job. It is my first time so relaxing till sleep while getting massage. I give her 5 stars on this. Beside, I like how the therapists manage the issue that they face. Since we were two, the room that they planned to take us first contains 2 beds. Somehow the music in the room is not operated. So, they asked us do you mind getting massage without music or change to two private rooms with music. We decided to change, and they did prepare the green ligth in the room as per our choice. After the massage, they served hot ginger / dried apricots / cold lemon honey. It is so refresh. I am planning to revisit in October

This place is fabulous! As a former Bangkok resident, I returned to the city after a long hiatus and was frankly blown away by how much had changed - not always for the better. I was so happy to find Klai Kaya, which took me back to an earlier, more peaceful time. The traditional Thai massage here is exactly that: strong, tailored to what you need, and extremely reasonably priced. No hustles here! I also found the massage space to be super peaceful - a dark, quiet, cool room with curtains dividing the individual massage areas to allow for complete privacy. It's incredible that Klai Kaya is right off Silom, down the Thai food soi .... it feels miles away. I went twice during my time in Bangkok, and it was never crowded or loud. I had two wonderful therapists (Ple and Yo) - who were recommended for me by the lovely reception staff, based on my interest in very strong massage to help me manage my chronic TMJ disorder. Both women were utterly amazing, providing real precision work throughout my back, shoulders, neck, head, and feet. Unlike many other therapists, who expect foreigners to be incapable of withstanding "real" Thai massage, they totally went for it and I put myself completely in their hands. I couldn't have been happier. Two of the best massages of my life!
