What to do and see in Shanklin, England: The Best Things to do Good for a Rainy Day

March 2, 2022 Terina Blouin

Shanklin Beach is a beautiful, carefully tended stretch of sand on the Isle of Wight. Families appreciate the lifeguards, as well as the kids’ play area. And while there’s quite a hill separating the town from the beach, don’t worry—a lift makes it easy to tote all your beach paraphernalia down to the sand.

On holiday on the Isle of Wight and saw the posters. Booked online, very easy, and collected tickets. Such excellent ‘staff’ (all volunteers) who were happy to tell us about their Theatre. Watched the show and was amazed how brilliant it was, the flying car, the excellent performers, the brilliant children and chorus dancers, the orchestra, the volunteers running it. Fantastic. So so pleased we decided to go. They have some great names perform here too. When we are back next time, I’ll definitely be checking to see what is on.

Jingle Bells The Christmas Shop

The only dedicated Christmas shop on the Island. Packed full of decorations for the home & tree. Many pieces exclusive. Open March to Christmas Eve 7 days a week 10-5 and summer evenings

Reviewed By kaleg

Jingle Bells is a lovely little shop situated at the old village end of Shanklin. On our holidays which in normal circumstances are taken on cruise ships I always like to buy a Christmas decoration as a small momento of the many places we have visited so it was a delight to find this little gem of a place on relatively home turf. We have grandchildren with names that are unusual and out of the ordinary meaning we can never find them on tree decorations so it was great to discover that many of the items on sale could be personalised by the very helpful lady who served us. Not having been to Shanklin for many years it was quite sad to see the decline of the shops on offer there but Jingle Bells was a valuable exception to this and well worth a visit!
