We spent a couple of hours visiting the castle and really enjoyed our visit. It’s free to enter, great ramparts and towers to climb and walk round and superb views over the town and countryside. I’d advise flat shoes/ trainers as there are lots of steps and uneven surfaces. There are also low walls and drops but fantastic views and perfectly safe. There is a museum with a film about the castle and some Roman remains. The curator speaks good English but displays and film are in Portuguese. Would really recommend it as a visit.
