Porpoise Bay Provincial Park

Reviewed By Scorpio-1001 - Canada

Wife and I wanted to go to the sunchine coast on a short camping trip. We chose Porpoise Bay provincial park. Park is on the ocean. nice beach, a couple of walking trails. there is play ground for kids.
They have flush toilet and hot showers. Washroom were ralatively clean and well maintained.
The sites are big and very well maintianed and clean. here is not fire pit in the endividial sites there are a few communial fir pit. but there is currently a fire ban. I asked ranger if i could use a propane fit pit he said yes.
The only reason I am not giving this park an excellent rating is because at about 7am every morning the float planes seemed to take off at that time on the ocean very close to the park. Go figure . If is quite during at night. but during the day there are a few float planes taking off. they are noisy if you are tring to sleep in.
I would stay at this park again. it is nice.

We walked to Chapman Falls and found it to be a very enjoyable hike. The trail passes several vehicles that are rotting in the forest, under the power lines and finally to the falls. The water from Chapman Creek is used as a water supply source so once up to the pumping station just follow the water pipes. The falls are a series of falls with only 2 accessible for photography. To save time, go to the end of Selma Park Road and start at the trail head next to the winery.

Dakota Ridge

Reviewed By Lovemyjob1 - Vancouver, Canada

We had a great day with Alpha Adventures last weekend - after a 10:30
rendezvous we were transported in a 4 X 4 van to Dakota Ridge.
Couldn't believe that there was so much snow on top! Nicely groomed
trails and the chance to go off the trails as well. Friendly volunteers
make this 'their' ridge, and you get the feeling that this really is a place
for the locals to go. And the best part? We saw NO ONE other than our group of
7 for over 2 hours!

The Bricker Cider Company

Reviewed By Cucina58 - Sunshine Coast BC

This is a brand new venture on our Sunshine Coast but we are excited that they have opened to be part of our community.
Their space is warm and inviting and outside, if it is a nice day, you can enjoy sampling your cider at a picnic table and be surrounded by the quiet of this rural space.
They currently have 3 ciders to try and I am sure as they get established they will have more exciting things for us to sample. They don't have a kitchen where food can be made but they do have some treats made by a local cafe, Gourmet Girls, that can enjoy with your cider.
It was lovely to cyclists making this a stop on their ride of the day.
