Trek to Seven Sisters Country Park, Eastbourne When I overheard about this place from a friend somehow it fascinated me and then did a research about this place Time to visit and how long it takes to cover the entire place. So made sure I have prepared myself well as this one demands one to be fit physically It is a stunning circular walk that takes in Birling Gap, Seven Sisters and Friston Forest. This walk is just under 8 miles / 13km in length and should take about 8 hours to walk as it is a rough stretch. It is the highest chalk sea cliff in Britain, rising to 162 metres (531 ft) above sea level. It attracts nearly half a million visitors each year We have loads of things to do one can Walk to the beach along the easy access trail And then enjoy the stunning scenery, especially the great views from the top of the Seven Sisters cliffs and hillsides Got a chance to check out the great wildlife including wading birds on the beach and at the coastguard huts, flowers and butterflies on the hillsides, and the fascinating pebble beach Point to note – it can get extremely windy so make sure to wear warmer clothing if it's later in the year. Would recommend going on a sunny day so you can get better views of the cliffs and the hills. Took a bus from Brighton to Seven Sisters country park visitor center, Take a Brighton Hover bus saver ticket at the Brighton center 12, 12x and 13x are the buses. Takes about 45 minutes to reach. Be ready with you camera as you pass glorious landscapes and beautiful country side. Get down at Cuckmere Inn and then follow the map. Pit Stop 1 – Cuckmere Inn Pit Stop 2 – Coast guard huts from there you can enjoy the sweeping views across the sea to the Seven Sisters and Belle Tout lighthouse.????????♂️ Pit Stop 3- Head to the beach from the coast guard huts spend some time by the beach????????♂️ Pit Stop 4 – Walk up the cliffs and then walk across the 7 hills and reach the end point – Belle Tout lighthouse.????????♂️ Best time to Visit: - During Spring and post monsoon season Timing to visit: Every day 11.00am to 4.00pm Entry fee: - There is no entry fee its free but do make sure you visit Seven Sisters country park visitor center and grab a quick bite before you head to and then collect a copy of the map at the visitor centre. On the whole all I say is - Travel opens your heart, broadens your mind and fills your life with stories to tell!???? Seaford Museum is housed in Martello Tower no.74, which is situated at the eastern end of Seaford seafront. The museum not only records Seaford's long history from its days as a Cinque Port but also appeals to all age groups and all members of the family with displays including shops, tableaux and a fascinating collection of material from pre-historic times to the present day. There is a General Store, Dressmakers Parlour, the contents of toy, chemist, ironmonger and photographer's shops as well as Victorian schoolroom, Victorian kitchen and wartime kitchen. There are also collections of domestic appliances covering the first half of the 20th century, office machinery from early typewriters and copiers to computers and a particularly large collection of radios and television sets.

Although it looks small from the outside it is like the tardis when you get inside. There was so much to see and brought back many childhood memories. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall great value for money.

We parked in the Buckle Car Park at the far end of the Marin Parade which is free and has public conveniences. Also its not far to walk to the Tide Mill ruins and nature reserve from here. But we went the other way and walked the length of Seaford Beach into town. The pebbles are tricky in places, especially on the slope down to the shore line, but once you are by the sea its very pleasant walking all the way to the Seaford museum in the tower, which is unfortunatel closed in these Covid times. Plenty of people utilising the beach and plenty of fishermen trying their luck. A very pleasant place for a stroll.

This is such a beautiful place to visit and a lovely walk down to the beach past the coastguard cottages. Whilst we were there we saw a Chinnock Helicopter which was very low flying and great to see. Whilst walking down to the beach you can see Cuckmere Haven and a beautiful view of the cliffs. The beach is a shingle one. When we were there it was not too busy and again lovely views. There are benches to sit on for a rest if required especially walking back up the hill. Definitely recommend a visit as there is also lots of parking spaces. There is a small mobile cafe in which they serve lovely cakes, coffee, ice cream etc with friendly staff.

Cuckmere Haven Seaford. The Nature Reserve is easiest accessed by two points; South Hill Barn in Seaford or from Eastbourne Road (A259) at Exceat Bridge. Free parking is provided at South Hill Barn, Seaford, the nearest post code is BN25 4JQ. From here is a simply stunning walk down Seaford Head to Cuckmere Valley, overlooking the Seven Sisters Cliffs and river mouth.

The Cuckmere Haven flood plains in Sussex, where the Cuckmere river flows into thw the English Channel, once, was commonly used by smugglers in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. Then, in the Second World War, it was studied by Germany as a possible landing site for the invasion of Britain; there are still visible remains of pillboxes and anti-tank obstacles which were built as defences. Today, the Cuckmere river is a meandering river, wit severakl oxbow lakes, and the whole area is well worth exploring by foot, on a bicycle or even on the river itself. Entry is free, although the car park is pay and display, and there are laid paths which make the area accesible for wheelchair and pushchair users.
