On a sunny day this is an absolute must. We left Schull harbour and arrived on Cape Clear at middayt. We boarded the waiting boat to the lighthouse directly. On the way out we came across a pod of dolphins which was an added bonus and I heard you could also possible see breaching whales on some trips. The lighthouse is breathtaking and the tour gives you loads of photo taking opportunities. The water was clam but some kids did feel ill while we were at the lighthouse when the boat slowed down. After returning we spent a few hours on Cape Clear. On a sunny day this is a special place and there is a steep hill overlooking the bay that is worth the walk. Overall superb day out. One of Ireland's top attractions, forget Temple Bar and the Guinness storehouse this is the real deal. Ireland's teardrop has so much history. Just do it!

This is the only planetarium in the republic of Ireland. The shows held here show star constellations and stargazing tips. The planetarium is a community run operation and is well worth a visit. The planetarium shows are given by young, fresh and enthusiastic students from the college making it very entertaining.
