What to do and see in Sapa, Lao Cai Province: The Best Hidden Gems Things to do

May 22, 2021 Malia Yoakum

The northwest market town of Sapa is colorful and charming, providing the perfect oasis in the midst of a strenuous mountain trek or rice-paddy tour. The Gothic stone church at the center of town is a bull’s-eye in the center of shops and stalls, serving as a reminder of the town’s French missionary influence. Dine on Vietnamese or European-inspired cuisine downtown, and don’t miss the Saturday night "love market," one of the most potent—and strictest—single’s nights imaginable.

Zaazaa Trekking

If you’re travelling all the way to Northern Vietnam, you shouldn’t miss trekking in Sapa. This is, after all, one of the most scenic regions of Northern Vietnam, and if there is one thing the frontier town of Sapa is known for, it’s rice terraces with sweeping mountain vistas. I do full day and half day hikes.

Ta Phin Village

Reviewed By C500DIgaryh - Morpeth, United Kingdom

I have just returned home from Sa Pa where I went to stay for a few days with my Vietnamese friends who live in the village they always make me feel like one of the family when I visit them every year. I would recommend staying a few day just to see how they live day to day. Everybody is very friendly. Well worth having a herbal bath. My friends do home stay's but don't force things on you, it is a relaxing environment. If anyone needs any information just contact me.
