This burgeoning wine region is located just north of Santa Barbara and is home to more than 60 vineyards.

We discovered the Santa Ynez Valley a couple of years ago and have now been there 7 times! The scenery is lovely; great hiking such as Lovers Loop, the winetasting is plentiful and excellent, ForFriends Inn has become a second home for us; Ellie's Tap & Vine is our favorite restaurant along with The Gathering Table, Brothers Red Barn and so many others!

Sunny Fields Park

Reviewed By D9447PXjohns - California, United States

We were first drawn to Sunny Fields Park because it looks like a Danish Village. Of course we were pleased to find that it's clean and safe. The younger kids will love it but there are other features as well. There are volleyball nets (at least when we were there), picnic tables with shaded eating areas, benches, grills, restrooms, and a nice "track" which surrounds the perimeter of the park. There is plenty of parking and informational flyers listing local events. There is also a number there if you wish to reserve a spot for larger functions. Finally, the park is on Alamo Pintado Road which is conveniently located near downtown Solvang! Continue on the same road and you'll find wineries, apple farms, nut and berry farms, an olive stand, a lavender farm, and a miniature horse ranch! You can really make a fun afternoon of it and let the little ones (or you) burn off some energy.

Little Rainbow Foot Spa

Reviewed By sbaker2015 - Carlsbad, United States

I walk 10 plus miles a day and have had several foot and body massages at the best of best Salons. I knew that this was an economical option. On one visit I did the 30 foot massage. Amazing. You lie down, relax, and although the English is limited, they will ask ok? I wouldn’t have changed a thing. I was with girl friends and several of us went. My gal was “Wendy”. We booked 90 min massages for the next day. Myself and 2 daughters. I had Wendy again and was thrilled. Back, neck arms legs scalp not as much feet this time. But they can find the knot and work it out. It was so inexpensive compared to salons. No steam no cocktails, no wave soundtrack but for $80 plus tip you can have a 90 min massage. I would go again.

So fun and entertaining. Definitely worth a stop on the way to Santa Barbara or Solvang. $5 for adults, $2 for kids, $1 for feed. Free parking. Over 100 ostriches and emus. Ostriches are vigorous eaters so hold on tight to the dustpan. Emus are gentler. Long line on weekends so make a reservation. Limited capacity due to social distancing. Plenty of photo opportunities. Self-guided. Port-a-potties. Hand sanitizer dispensers at site. Small gift stand. Wander around in about 30 minutes. (Line was also another 30-45 minutes long)

We visited in January, before rainy season and the waterfall was so beautiful! The drive down Alamo Pintado to the park was glorious. We saw wild pigs, deer, cows & horses. Along the hike to the waterfalls, we saw wild turkeys! The waterfall is a hidden treasure. I absolutely recommend this hike to the water falls for beginners.

Hans Christian Andersen Park

Reviewed By 716sachink - Plainview, United States

Hans Christian Andersen Park is an awesome park filled with large live oak trees. To enter this park, one needs to drive through a castle arch. It has a skating section. There is a small wooden playground behind the skating section. There are several benches for public seating. Certainly worth visiting when in Solvang.
