Last week I climbed mountains . . . FOR CLASS. Improving my Spanish is a main goal of my trip to Bariloche, and I was lucky to find “Active Spanish” through the language school BSL—where I had the mountains of Patagonia for a classroom! Thanks to the timezone difference, I could wake up early in the morning to take on altitudes that in equal parts had me begging for breaks and wow-ing at the wonder of the views where my sore legs brought me. All before I would have started my typical work day on Central Standard Time! I really clicked with my true gem of a teacher, Ani. As an "advanced intermediate" level, it felt good to be able to have conversations while being gently corrected, and practice my subjunctive with fun "if you were a tree, what type would you be?" sort of questions. Gratitude doesn’t begin to cover it.

The school provides classes in the morning and fun activities in the afternoon where you can learn Spanish through contextual use cases. I studied at this school for a month and a half and worked with virtually all of the teachers. Each of them was really great and the materials have been helpful for reference as well.

Mi nombre es Victor Katz y soy Instructor Independiente de ski desde el ano 1980. Con mas de 30 anos en la ensenanza del esqui en el pais y en el exterior y unas cuantas horas en mi haber, hoy la ensenanza para mi se reduce a 2 enunciados basicos: "la logica" y "la practica", y estos enunciados se aplican tanto en el plano inicial como asi tambien en el avanzado.
