What to do and see in Salzburg, Austrian Alps: The Best Hidden Gems Things to do

June 17, 2021 Augustus Redeker

It’s been 200 years or so since he lived here, but Mozart is still very much Salzburg’s favorite son. Visit the composer’s residence and birthplace, then explore the Altstadt (Old City), taking in the baroque architecture. If your musical tastes run more "Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens" than "Requiem in D Minor," catch one of the many Sound of Music tours and follow in the footsteps of the Von Trapps.

An Exvellent Experience! Johann gave us easy to follow directions to making both Apple Strudel and Salzburger Nockerl, which were both delicious, and our creations turned our perfectly. The goulash he served for lunch was equally yummy. All the recipes were provided for us to make later when arriving home. The atmosphere was very unique and a definite highlight of our trip. Don’t pass this experience up! Amazing!

Salzburg has so many great features. This includes a mountain the is directly in the middle of the city on the North and East side of the Salzach River. We climbed the mountain for the incredible views it had of the city and fortress. There are so many things to do in Salzburg, but do not miss the views from this mountain top.
