Went to visit a family plot that has just been refurbished. However was very surprised at the number of well know peoples graves in this cemetery. Worth a visit.

The Grade II listed Cathedral Church of St John the Evangelist, Salford. The mother church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Salford. A sanctuary in the city. Come an see the beauty of our mother church.
No matter you are a Catholic Christian or not, I am sure you will feel peaceful and blessed when you visit this Cathedral. You will also be impressed by its historical building and the solemn church altar. Don't miss the opportunity to pray in the church and share your secrecy with God.

An amazing feat of engineering that is a fantastic reminder of the history of the Bridgewater Canal and also the man made Manchester Ship canal. A must visit. Walk up to the aqueduct on the Trafford park side and marvel at the view of the two bridges and canals.

There is never a dull day at MediaCityUK. Atmosphere is central to the MediaCityUK ethos and with a host of cultural and sporting attractions, cinemas, world class events, shopping, an abundance of bars and restaurants and a diversity of people living and working here - atmosphere is certainly something that is never lacking. Ordsall Hall is a fab place to visit with kids, or just as adults. Its a wonderful place to learn about Manchesters incredible history. There are information boards and the restoration work makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. The staff are also so friendly and helpful...I highly recommend a visit!

City Airport is a General and Business Aviation Airfield in Greater Manchester. Opened in 1930, this unique location features grass runways and a historic Control Tower building. Open to the general public, with free parking, viewing/picnic area and a viewing balcony, it is an idea day out for all ages. See the airport in action with a variety of aircraft, helicopters, microlights. Also home to Police Helicopter Services and the North West Air Ambulance Charity.
Myself and family went to watch the planes with our grandchildren and decided to have a meal while we were there. We had a Sunday dinner and OMG, the amount we got was fabulous and very worth the money we paid. The drinks are very reasonable to. In the school summer holidays they have a Summer Beach month with real sand, a fairground, ice creams, fast food - we were lucky to get a very sunny day and it was amazing!

Wow we got tickets to watch an episode being filmed of this and it was great fun! Singers come on one by one and they are singing to a panel of 100 music judges all diverse - and with different roles in the music industry - so they all have a credibility and insight to share. Gerry Horner (nee Haliwell - aka Ginger Spice) is the most celebrated accomplished judge - who is über positive. Comedian Rob Beckett is the compare and he also does a fine job of weaving it all together. The judges learn the words of all the songs (although they don’t know who is singing what) and the idea is that if they like the one performing they will stand and sing and dance at their station. We had a mix of songs from “Bring him Home” - Les Miserable, a powerful rendition form a 21 year old lad from Northern Ireland “Creep” - Radiohead (I like this song, but at first didn’t recognise it) “I think we’re alone now” - Tiffany (as gerry said Tiffany is very marmite Love or Hate) “The show must go on” - Freddy Mercury (the singer had a powerful pair of lungs, but it wouldn’t be my choice I bet she could have forged through with a song which would have had all the judges on their feet) “Goodbye” - Spice Girls (to which Gerry said it made her sad because it was about her leaving Spice Girls! ) why would you even sing this it was a risk - he would have been better doing a Barry Manilow number. He Ya Alright alright - OutKast (this was performed by 3 brothers all in the fire service - I guess they will still be fighting fires for some time yet) The warm up act was very personable and a fun guy, the whole thing made for an unforgettable experience. I would definitely return to a filming of a show it was fun, you are there for a long time but the time kind of flew.

When visiting UK, I wanted to see a Rugby match on a Sunday. On contacting the club, we were offered a great solution at the C&C Insurance hospitality - for the match, brunch, parking ( needs reservation ). Plenty of staff, good food, and great facilities. Yes, the Sale Sharks won, we will be back.
