Real ale, courtesy of Shepard Neame. Wines & Lagers. Real home cooked food, freshly prepared. (Breakfast now served from 10-3 Thurs - Sat) Clam and relaxing atmosphere, good value, children and four legged friends welcome.
Today myself and my family went to your pub in Rye for lunch. I would just like to say that the food we all had out in the garden was home cooked deliciousness at it's best. All the veg was fresh, and the corned beef hash, macaroni cheese & the ploughmans home made. I was lucky enough as we were leaving to bump into the lady chef, and myself and my daughter complimented her on the food. Everyone is quick to see the negatives in everything and I like to give praise & thanks where I can. If I'm ever in the town again we would definitely eat here again. Thank you. Kind Regards and best wishes in these difficult times. Pam McAllister

Had a wonderful tour ion the bar around the bottled beers on offer from Harvey's Brewery in Lewes, whose head brewer is a highly talented amateur thespian, who does professional quality musical theatre around the County in his spare time! Check out Miles Jenner's If I Catch Alphonso tonight about the sadly forgotten musical hall great, the diminutive Billy Merson which he performed at the wonderful 2019 Rye Arts Festival. Back to the beer - excellent, with a frightening collection of super-charged and possibly fruit-packed ales made in Belgium by sadistic monks! Kept clear of that for the Harvey's and consequently woke this morning without a sore head! As we left the landlord wished us good evening - a nice touch which will ensure that we will be back!
