Whissendine Windmill

Reviewed By Judearava - Hazeva, Israel

we went to visit, just because we had an hour to kill. little did i know that we would find a true working mill! Nigel Moon - a true living image of windy miller - was more than happy to tell us the history of this great working mill and let us climb up into the upper levels of the tower. Would loved to have been able to buy some flour but as we live overseas it wasn’t really possible. But talking to Mr Moon has made me more determined to buy quality bread or even try to make it myself! great place to take children

Normanton Church

Reviewed By 872lornagv - North Luffenham, United Kingdom

We chose this for my husband's funeral and to the best of my knowledge we were the first people to ever hold a funeral here. It's a wonderful location for it and I would recommend it unhesitatingly. We had a humanist service and the space was perfect, not too overwhelming and not too small, perfect. Parking is no problem, and it makes what could be a dreary experience into something memorable for the right reasons

Yew Tree Avenue

Reviewed By jhuman700 - Isleham, United Kingdom

We were riding around and came across this place. In the past this would have been the driveway up to Clipham Hall, I am sure it would have made a very grand entrance. It is now I think run by the forestry commission and free for people to wander down the avenue and back. Unfortunately it was raining when we visited but it did not distract from the beauty of the trees and the unusualness of it. Well worth a visit.
