A lovely drive - many superb views - driving requires care - we had a war crisp day with snow and frozen waterfalls - really enjoyed it - road was quiet for us - could be a hassle if busy.- all single track - it is all sealed.

North Kessock Community Pier

North Kessock Community Pier is the only public facility suitable for small to medium boat launching in the inner Moray Firth. We recently upgraded the structure by adding a Small Boat Jetty, to greatly enhance safe access for all users, especially those with reduced mobility. This also provides an excellent viewpoint for dolphin watching and taking photographs of the firth, especially spectacular sunsets!

Chanonry Point

A lovely place... a sand and pebble beach where you can walk along to Rosemarkie and e if you are lucky you can spot Dolphins (all year round?) and seals as well as multiple sea birds while looking over to Fort George. Also overlooked by a lighthouse. Busy at times with small carpark which gets very busy. A lovely place to spend a bit if time... dog friendly.

Arctic Convoys Memorial

Reviewed By Ennie123 - Scotland, United Kingdom

Loch Ewe is a sea loch in the north west of Scotland. Around Loch Ewe there is buildings derelicts buildings, gun towers, machinery, dating back to WW2. This loch was heavily protected for good reason. Loch Ewe was used as a base for the Arctic Convoy because of it's isolated and remote location. The fact that German intelligance and spys, could not find the convoys location because the coastline of Scotland in the north has many sea lochs. This sea loch was used as a safe haven for hundreds of navy ships, merchant navy ships and our soliders and military personal that were stationed there too. You have to drive around all of the loch to see and read about the history. The loch is stunning and teaches us the past and Scotlands part in WW2. It makes you see the sacrifices made by the men and women serving our country. To be somewhere so isolated for months on end, playing a massive part in the war effort. It makes you stop and think and brings a tear to your eye. History that evokes many emotions and a must see. ????????????

Black Rock Gorge

Reviewed By ChristineD733 - Beauly, United Kingdom

There are a number of different ways to approach the gorge, requiring a short walk through the Evanston Community Woods or from the road near the old mill. Nothing prepares you for the deep gash in the ground, although the sound of rushing water gives a clue. Be ready to feel dizzy as you try to catch a glimpse of the water far, far below! The information boards explain the history of the Gorge. Leave enough time to explore the Community Woods too....lots of lovely quiet walks, with outdoor play area for children too.
