What to do and see in Rhodes Town, South Aegean: The Best Architectural Buildings

March 1, 2022 Milan Banda

The largest of the twelve Dodecanese islands on the Aegean's eastern edge, Rhodes is also its most popular. The well-preserved medieval city of Rhodes sits at the north of the island of the same name. High rise hotels line the northern and eastern coastlines. Small villages and resorts dot the island's other shores. Whether your interests are beaches, bars or ancient sites, Rhodes offers an abundance of all three. Authentic Greece can be found in the hilly interior of the 50-mile long island.

Built around 1927 by architect Florestano Di Fausto and one of the most important buildings of the Italian period in Rhodes. Definitely worth a visit!

Constructed during the first years of the Italian occupation by the Italian architect Florestano di Fausto. It is located on the Liberty Square (Platia Eleftherias) and a nice example of the Rennaisance Eclecticism and the "Finta Pietra" technology. Richly decorated facade with reliefs carved on local poros stone. The place to be to buy Stamps. Staff inside is very friendly and helpfull.
