If you want to see the creative side of art, then this is the place to be. Michael's rammed workshop is an aladdin's cave of tools and part finished works of art that show his creative process. The crow is a bonus .

Swaledale Museum

This museum is wonderful. It displays the most interesting exhibits relating to social history in the Dales. It has wonderful books and artefacts that you can purchase. With the additional enhancement of knowledgable proprietors. The owners also organise a programme of fascinating talks and field trips. All relevant to the dales. We were lucky enough to enjoy a field trip today, hosted by Richard Lamb, all about Lead Mining at Surrender Mill and Old Gang Mine. It was only £10 for a full day, with all proceeds to the museum. A fantastic day.

Hudson House

This is a oasis of calm in the middle of Reeth. There's a selection of old variety apple trees. The flowers are well tended as are the surrounding areas. There's benches to sit on and take in the peace and quiet..It's one of my favourite places in Reeth but no one seems to go, I've spent many a hour drawing in the gardens and sometimes not seen another person. If you don't know where it is it's by the tourist information building, left hand side.

The Swale Trail

Reviewed By Ordinary_Guy_3

April is the perfect time to bike this 12 mile trail which has all types of scenery. It’s a bit bumpy and tough on bikes in places and the going after Gunnerside is a lot more testing. However there are some lovely stretches. One of my favourite is at the top of the hill after Gunnerside Lodge where the track flattens out to provide some lovely views of the Dale. The Little White Bus is handy for getting back into Reeth although careful planning is needed. We did the whole trail very comfortably in 2.5 hours which included walking in places.
