Olly's Bar

Cheap and chilled bar located in the heart of Koh samed. Come and have a cold beer or signature cocktail, listen to good music, play chess, cards or any board games we have available. Swap stories with fellow travellers or plan your next adventure.

Ollys is one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in!! They go above and beyond to help. Before we even arrived they were at the end of the phone to help us when we were confused at the port. Not only was the hostel extremely clean but the facilities and security was great also. The staff were welcoming and lovely, with amazing English. They recommended the best spots to eat, drink and snorkel. If visiting Koh Samet, it’s a must you come to ollys even if it’s for a drink.

Tung Prong Thong

Fascinating to walk through mature and young mangrove forests and to see the strange, arching roots of the big trees holding them steady in the swampy ground. The boardwalk is well maintained and there are several wide observation areas where you can rest and take photos. We couldn't complete the circular walk because of an unusually high tide and storm surge from tropical storm Pabuk in the far west of the Gulf, but the whole walk would have been good to do - passing the Frigate Prasae on the way.

Rayong Dive Center

Rayong is the perfect place for beginners learning how to scuba dive; for students who plan to take their open water test out in the sea and also for people who wish to refresh their scuba diving skills because the sea in Rayong is relatively shallow and its water current is just right as it is not strong. Boating traffic in this area is also relatively low and each destination is only a short boat ride away from each other. There are many dive sites in the area, you can experience lots of colorful soft corals at a dive site called “Japanese Garden”. For those of you who like big fish, you may get a chance to encounter schools of barracuda and if lucky, even the whaleshark, which is every diver’s dream to see, at least once in a lifetime, at a dive site called Hin Pleung (Alhambra Rock). At the dive site called Hin Saphan, there are many schools and species of fish and also a chance to encounter the green turtle. Finally, at the dive site of “Sand Terrace” you will get a chance to find the rare sawblade shrimp, sea horse, different species of nudibranchs and the giant sea sponge.
