Royal Brewery Krusovice

Reviewed By Michael O - Murphy, Texas

I have been to the Czech Republic over 20 times and this is my favorite beer! If you can get the non filtered Krusovice, even better!! This is a bit out of Prague, but worth the trip and the time. It is a really cool brewery, in a small town, that brews and serves amazing better!! Long Live the King!!! The staff are very nice and the tours are interesting (with a tasting at the end).

JK CLASSICS

JK Classics (located very close to beautiful protected Forests landscape area of Krivoklatsko) is a brand new museum of classic american automobiles - visit us and take a look at amazing car legends from 1915 till 1983. You may see Cadillacs, Buicks, Oldsmobiles, Lincolns, Fords, Chevrolets and many many more - all in perfect technnical condition.

If you love old american cars, you have to visit this place. There are dozens of amazing cars in incredible condition. It´s a pity that you can´t sit or try some of them because you definitely want to! But it´s understandable. Also lots of activites for children - School bus with children´s corner, lots of toys.
Whole american experience was a bit ruined by the restaurant in this area. I was expecting american smiles on the waiters faces. But no, it was typically czech restaurant. Annoyed faces, slow service without any friendly greeting, half of offer wasn´t available. Food was ok.
Still 5 stars for the american cars!

Krivoklat Castle

First built as a hunting lodge, this castle became famous as a dungeon for political prisoners in the 12th century.

About 1 hour and 15 from Prague. You drive through beautiful Forests before you arrive to this medieval castle on the top of a ridge. One of the oldest Castles started by Wenceslas I. Beautifully preserved with dungeons, towers and beautiful rooms. The antique sleds were wonderful! The courtyard has beautiful stone work. There are several tours to choose from. We went on the full castle tour which didn't actually go through the whole castle. Another tour did 3 areas that we missed. Tours were in Czech with English text. Not sure if you can request an English tour in advance. We didn't mind since the guide was very friendly even with her small amount of English.

St Bartholomew's Church

Reviewed By AdventurousRetirees - Lone Tree, Colorado

This is a very charming church in a quaint medieval town. The architecture is beautiful, dating to the 14th century. Don't miss the bell tower from 1495, adjacent to the church. The beauty is that it is not a "touristy" church, it continues to serve the local community as it has for hundreds of years..A worthy stop if you are touring in the central Czech region.

It's all about the rich history (Jan Hus), architecture, landscape. The environment of this Castle is quiet and for those who seek rest a wonderful place to be. No guide and no refreshments unfortunately !

Ruckl

The Ruckl family glassworks has produced top-quality cut crystal since 1846. Yet the family’s glassmaking tradition has been handed down from generation to generation for over three hundred years. The Nizbor manufacture produces exclusive hand-made works using time- -tested glassmaking techniques. Art Director Rony Plesl retrieved and fine-tuned the best from the Ruckl family archives, adding a pastel color -palette, unusual material combinations, and contemporary design. Bohemian crystal bearing the Ruckl logo continues the heritage of a brand in which the art of glassmaking surpasses craft. It’s our Mission.

A place that takes you back to the traditional craft of glass blowing. It is conveniently located close to Prague (as pretty much the only glass making factory) in the beautiful nature of Křivoklátsko. Definitely worth a visit - take a tour around the factory, visit their shop and then take a walk by the river and dine at the amazing Zastávka Nižbor restaurant.

Czech Railways Museum

Reviewed By Stuart F - Glasgow, United Kingdom

The museum is located at a small station 1.5 hours by train from Prague. It is obviously a labour of love for rail enthusiasts but seriously handicapped by one thing- very few of the labels for the exhibits are in English. All it requires is an information sheet available at the ticket desk. Really for die hard rail fans only.

Nápadité úkoly a hádanky, zejména oceňuji mechanické provedení ("automatické" otevírání apod.)..
