Pulaski is a city and county seat of Giles County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 7,870 at the 2010 census. It was named to honor the Polish-born American Revolutionary War hero Kazimierz Pułaski. It is home to Martin Methodist College, and is the birthplace of the Ku Klux Klan.

The world famous Milky Way Farm on Route 31, south of Nashville, has some of the most scenic, fertile land in Middle Tennessee. The historic property provides over one thousand acres of green pastures populated with herds of deer and flocks of wild Turkey, enhanced by streams, massive barns, trails, and breathtaking vistas. Milky Way Farm began because of the vision of Frank Mars who purchased land in Tennessee in the 1930's after the success of his Milky Way candy bar. His farm employed hundreds of workers during extreme economic times in Giles County. Known for prize Herefords, fast horses, fine sheep, incredible barns and breathtaking views the farm is dear to many. Photos of the farm in its glory days can be seen at the Train Museum in charming Lynnville, Tennessee. The farm had its own railway stop to transport product and was one of the largest magnolia plantations of the South. Today the fine craftsmanship of all who worked on the property is evident in the architecture and design of the Manor House, the beautiful barns, stone houses, and rock walls. An elegant twenty-five thousand square foot manor house featuring twenty bedrooms and fourteen baths grace the property.

History lovers will adore this home and grounds. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. She was able to answer all of our questions. Well worth the drive out there.

A must-see if you're driving along the leisure Rte 64 along southern Tennessee. Pulaski offers a jewel of an interpretive museum located in an old Catholic Church, moved to its new site. It recounts the history of the notorious Removal of Indians Act, opposed only by politician David Crockett (yes, the same one of the song!) who lost his seat as a result of his unpopular vote. The signage has been researched by local college students and the tale of hardships suffered by the Cherokke and other tribes certainly moved us to tears ourselves. Access provided by the local Chamber of Commerce. Free, but donations accepted.

I've known the guy who started this vineyard for years, so I'm not surprised that he's done it right. He's a long-time greenhouse man and landscaper; his knowledge of southern Tennessee horticulture is the product of years of experience and study. What did surprise me is the quality of the wines he is producing from native southern grapes. I thought good wine had to come from varietals of European origin, but these wines changed my mind. I especially liked the semi-dry and dry muscadines--wines with a unique flavor that stand up well against California Cabernets and bear little resemblance to the sweet muscadines I had tasted elsewhere. Besides selling good wine, a visit to this winery will likely land you a tour of the operation and a chance to taste the dozen types of wine they produce--everything from Amish strawberry and concords (sweet to dry varieties) to those excellent muscadines. Highly recommended.

If new to town or just traveling thru, you really must come by the Chamber. All kind of handouts/brochures and knowledgeable staffing to answer your questions. If live here, still stop by. A good place to find out the upcoming events, talk to the staff, and enjoy the building which is an event in itself - find out the history of the building!
