What to do and see in Puerto Madero, Capital Federal District: The Best Things to do

April 9, 2022 Nicolette Lion

The birthplace of the tango is, like the dance itself, captivating, seductive and bustling with excited energy. Atmospheric old neighborhoods are rife with romantic restaurants and thumping nightlife, and Buenos Aires' European heritage is evident in its architecture, boulevards and parks. Cafe Tortoni, the city's oldest bar, will transport you back to 1858, and the spectacular Teatro Colon impresses just as it did in 1908. Latin America's shopping capital offers the promise of premium retail therapy along its grand, wide boulevards.

We found Driver BA through all the excellent reviews on trip advisor. We couldn’t have picked a better service. We were met at the airport taken to our hotel, did a four hour tour of BA tailored to our interests and then taken the next day to our ship at the cruise terminal We felt completely safe with our drivers and tour guide as that was a concern for me whilst in BA. Communication with Fernando from the start to finish was impeccable, he was always available with any queries. Driver BA enhanced our memorable stay with their efficient reliable service and I can not recommend them highly enough.

Puerto Madero

By day, this riverfront area is a booming business and shopping district and by night, a hip neighborhood with pricey restaurants and fashionable clubs.

A place by the river where Nature meets the city, the Woman's Bridge, and a cute passage by the river to go for a stroll during the Summer, and get the breeze. Nice restaurants, ice cream places and gourmet stores around too. Don't miss it.

Private collection of Amala Lacroze, a wealthy argentinian woman. She was obviously very educated and with a good eye for good art. Of course, she could afford it. Small enough to be enjoyed without hours of waiting or walking, but very satisfactory in the selection of paintings and other works of art. Also, the neighborhood of Puerto Madero is interesting and has other attractions and very good restaurants.
