I did the full trip from chaltan to Ushuaia. It’s a great tour and I had an amazing time. I booked through Argentina discovery but I believe the actual company which runs the tour is Camino abierto. In my group everyone had booked through different companies. Ana who works for Argentina discovery was very helpful. She always replied to my emails promptly. Even when my payment didn’t go and I had to do the transfer just before I left she was very calm and understanding about it. The phone number on their website isn’t correct but the one on Tripadvisor is correct so use that.

My group of 14 people visited with the local family for a great dinner and empanada cooking session. everyone enjoyed the opportunity to try many of the local dishes and to even make one. the hosts were fantastic. as this was our first day in Argentina and it set the tone for the reminder of the trip.

t allows us, by starting time, to arrive that day to El Chaltén and visit the Laguna de los Tres, wich the base of the Cerro Fitz Roy, staying overnight in the camp at the foot of the hill. The sight of the sunrice will be without a doubt unforgettable. As we do not descend to the town we will be able, the next day, to walk the footpath of the Lagunas Madre a Hija. We will be arriving at the Laguna Torre, wich is the base of the Cerro Torre. Then we will return to El Chaltén, arriving in the afternoon.

We really enjoyed this virtual live experience all together. And even-though we decided to "only" watch, due to the time difference (after dinner for us), we had a great time learning more about how to properly cook Empanadas. Thanks again to Camila for making it very interesting, "tasteful"and fun and giving us the chance to discover the world of Empanadas and also sharing insights about Argentina with us.

Karen Rosa worked with me and my sister-in-law, Pat Holland, in arranging a unbelievable trip to Chile in March 2020. She was very accommodating when we kept tweaking our plans and she responded to each of our wishes professionally. We were sent a detailed itinerary delineating our private pick up times, where we should meet for our private tours as well as group tours and description of the sites we would be experiencing . We arrived in Chile on March 12 and due to the pandemic we chose to depart on March 13, late evening. We had arranged our own travel from United States. Karen worked with our wonderful travel insurance agency, Travel Guard. From the beginning, Karen told us she would seek refunds for the hotels, travel and tours that we were not able to participate in. We did receive a refund today from Say Hueque. I know this must be difficult financial times for travel agencies but Karen and her travel company follow through on their promise. When things get a little bit more normal I would not hesitate to use Karen Rosa and the services of Say Hueque

Be sure to book only with Piratours - ideally directly at their office in the centre of Ushuaia. We had a terrible experience with cancellation of our trip (booked here!) via Grey Line - despite paying in full for a trip on a date shown online here as available. Luckily, that was not the fault of the actual operator Piratour and they were able to fit us in when we went there in person. However, although quite expensive, it was well worth the experience and the tour is respectful of nature & the environment.

My family spent 10 days in Argentina (5 of them in Patagonia) and our day trek to Laguna de los Tres with Pedro was by far our favorite experience and day. Pedro spent 10 hours with us and became like a friend by the end of the day. He is so passionate about Patagonia and hiking and incredibly knowledgable. His enthusiasm is contagious and made the very difficult hike so much fun and enjoyable. He was very patient with us as we aren't experienced hikers and always set the right expectations for what lied ahead, helping us take breaks at the right points and carving out the best path during the rocky uphill and downward climbs where the rocks are very loose. I fell on the way down and he was so caring and attentive to me to make sure I wasn't hurt. We really felt like we were in great hands. The hike itself is very hard but 10000% worth it to get the beautiful views of Laguna de los Tres. We were lucky and had a sunny/warm day with no winds. I couldn't imagine doing it in the rain and wind. Out of all the guides we had in Argentina, Pedro was by far the best!
9. 6-Day Glacier and Hiking Tour in Patagonia
This six day Patagonia hiking holiday explores the best of this dramatic region. You’ll be based for five nights in the town of El Calafate, the gateway to the region. The first few days are all about glaciers. You’ll spend the bulk of your time at the Perito Moreno glacier, which sits in Los Glaciares National Park. There will be plenty of time to appreciate its heft (its front wall is 5km long) from nearby walking trails and viewing platforms, and you’ll also get the chance to grab the crampons and go ice hiking at its base. We did a 12 day customized trip in 2018. Found this company through Zicasso, Kieran was great arranging it all and communication was easy. Our trip started in Buenos Aires where we did a cooking class at the Argentine Experience and took a tango lesson. Our dance instructors took us out to a milongo afterwards and we ended up staying out until 2am. It was great! We felt completely immersed in the culture. We then flew to Iguazu and toured the jungle, got blasted by the falls in a boat ride and saw all the incredible creatures that live there. Our last 5 days were spent hiking in Patagonia where we trekked the Perito Moreno Glacier, visited a ranch, and then drove to El Chalten for the final days. All of our transportation was provided, all internal flights booked by Kieran, and everything was just wonderful. To this day, it’s one of my favorite vacations!

Wonderful tour. Picked us up at the hotel and made our way to the Glacier The tour guide was was outstanding. She was very knowledgeable and kind. The driver was also first rate. We really enjoyed the whole experience and would recommend it to anyone. I would suggest a visit to the Glacier Museum prior to the tour for all relevant insight to the glacier.
