Chocolate Tour Manuel Antonio

Firstly, the chocolate tour starts with the cultural and biological background of cocoa in the world and here in Costa Rica. Secondly, we talk about coffee and its importance for Costa Rica's economic and cultural development. Finally, we want to look at one of the most important aspects of Costarican culture and tradition, the trapiche: A sugar cane run through two beautiful oxen.

I came alone on a yoga package with Montezuma after corresponding with Dagmar and the experience exceeded my expectations and I now highly recommend it to anyone. It was by far one of my best yoga experiences as besides meeting all the needs from experienced yoga teachers as far as Assanas, Dagmar and Eva are true yogis by spirit and their classes and wisdom are on what made their daily classes so memorable. I will be certain to come back and the cherry on top is that you get to do yoga in beautiful surroundings in open sir in one of the blue zones of the World (where many centennials live) overlooking the beautiful Ocean. I miss it already and can’t wait to come back soon!

A 15 minute walk up from the Monteverde Cheese Factory, through a beautiful woodlands, takes you to the gallery of watercolor artist Sarah Dowell. Visiting her unique home, you'll see paintings which often depict local wildlife and jungle scenes. Colorful signs with arrows show the way. It is also possible to drive most of the access road.

My friends and I hiked the path in the back of the monteverde institute about 100 feet from the cheese factory/ice cream store. (Btw, factory no longer does tours). Hike was free. After, we saw sign for “gallery” and came across house in the woods. The owner and artist, Sarah, has been living in Costa Rica since 1978. She welcomed us into her home and gallery. We looked at her collection of shells and her beautiful watercolors that capture the feel of the country. I purchased a pack of ten assorted greeting cards of her paintings. She spoke with us about the Quaker way of life which is a lot more “real” than most others. I’m glad to have happened upon her place.

As a man who used to cringe at the suggestion of a massage, I'm now a big fan. Warner and his team provide a professional experience. In Jaco, there are more than a few seedy "massage" places; so be careful. Warner and Nazareth Spa provide a REAL massage experience among the sounds of jungle birds and a flowing creek. My wife and I continue to use Nazareth Spa to treat ourselves...because 2020 has created enough stress and anxiety!
