This wonder of nature permits the observation of one of the most unique landscapes in the World; constituted by the upper Iguazu River and the Subtropical Forest, which frame the incredible Devil's Throat balcony. Three ring-shaped balconies permit a special view of the colossal “throat”, the culmination of the journey: a giant horseshoe-shaped waterfall 150 meters / 492 feet long, and 80 meters / 262 feet high. We made a fabulous 7-day trip through the northeast of Argentina, we started with the Ibera National Park, the visit to the wetlands is mandatory for wildlife lovers, we visited the Jesuit missions and the Mocona Falls and Encantado Falls, leaving the waterfalls From Iguazú, for the latter, it was a great success of our travel agency Tierra Colorada Turismo, otherwise you would not have enjoyed the previous attractions so much, the falls are fabulous, we visited the Argentine falls in one day and we took noon to visit the Brazilian falls with the bird park, during the excursion we also did a boat trip that was worth it. Without a doubt, a wonderful closure I highly recommend in Northeast Argentina.

You can take a boat trip up river to the bottom of the falls, and it's well worth it, although you get pretty wet. You get a sense of the massive volume of water coming through.

80% of the park is in Argentina, and one can see the most part of the waterfalls very closely, sometime right on top (or at the bottom) of them. There are 3 paths. The most beautiful (and crowded) is Devil´s Throat day that one reaches with the internal train from the park entrance. The other paths are the Upper and the Lower Trail, all beautiful. Each one requires 1.5/2 hour walk, but quite easy and almost all flat. If you go in summer prepare for 35c and 90% humidity, so bring plenty of water and use light clothes. You will most likely get wet at the Devil´s Throat due to the vapor clouds above the waterfalls. There are monkeys and birds easy to spot. Prepare for long queue at the entrance, but worth it. Inside there are bars.

If you love nature, you must put Ig Falls on your bucket list. It was on mine and I was more than pleased. One of the seven natural wonders of the world and most people haven't heard of it. A little hard to get to but not bad from either Buenos Aires or Rio. You need 2 days to do it justice. One from the Brazilian side and one from the Argentinian side. The zodiac boat ride up the rapids and into the falls is a must. Yes you will get soaked, but that's the point. If you do the helicopter ride, opt for the short version. The longer version is not worth the money. Look into hiring a local guide that speaks good english and can get you front of the line entrance to the falls. The lines can be very long. Best to arrive at 8AM at the latest.

I was on a work trip in Posadas but definitely wanted to see the ruins. It was difficult to find a connecting coach that arrived before closing time, but fortunately an acquaintance gave me a ride to San Ignacio's bus terminal and I caught a taxi from there. I could have easily walked, but the signage wasn't very readily available. It was ideal to arrive about one hour before closing time (open from until 7pm), because that gave me time to tour the small museum (Spanish and English explanatory texts, by the way) and get some amazing sunset-lit pictures of the ruins themselves. After closing time, I hung out at one of the local shops across the street while eating an icelolly and buying some handicrafts (no coffee shop or the like available). I stayed on so that I could watch the 'light and sound show', which began at 8 pm. This wonderful 45-minute outdoor show consists of multimedia stories which are projected onto the ruin walls or artificially-generated mists.You get a very visual idea of what life was like before, during and after the Jesuit mission. Pity there's no English version available on headsets or something. The other thing which I didn't like is that you have to get two separate tickets, one for the earlier visit and another for the show. No discount is available and staff at the ticket office wasn't particularly friendly. The opposite can be said of the guide that showed the way along the light and sound show: because it was already pitch dark, he made sure everyone was safe and followed him. If, like me, you depend on public transportation to go back to Posadas, rush back to the bus terminal as soon as the show is over so that you can catch the last mini bus that leaves at 9 pm. Otherwise, I was told you can get on some of the long distance buses on the road, near the town's entrance. Overall, this is something you cannot miss if you are in the area!!!!

Wasn't expecting much before visiting as all the advertisements in the hotels are for the Bird Park in Foz de Iguazu in Brazil. Guira Oga pleasantly surprised us and was great to see some of the wildlife that would be hard to spot most of the time. This is NOT a Zoo , but a rehabilitation center for the animals which have been bred in captivity and will be released in the wild once they are ready hanks to the conservation efforts by the people who work here. So your entrance fee of 400 ARS goes towards this cause. From the entrance, a tractor takes you to the start of the walk which is about 10 minutes away. You get to see beautiful parrots , Tucans, Eagles, Vultures etc. In addition several animals including crocodiles and leopards. A great place to spend a few hours in Puerto Iguazu after you hectic day at the Falls.
