The winterline museum in Venafro is one of the best and most impressive WWII museums I've ever been too..Luciano was fantastic as a guide and it was a first rate experience. Most impressive is the back story of how these artifacts were found in nearby fields and surrounding mountains. Also impressive is its not just allied artifacts, but all nations that were involved in the conflict, including many German artifacts and uniforms.Highly recommend this stop for any tourist !!!

Museo Combat Road

The "Combat Road" association was born whit the prupose of sharing information, testimonies and photo of finds and materials related to the Second World War, whit particular reference to the historical facts that occurred in our territory.

"Combat Road" museum is a surprising museum about the liberation of the region and the fighting in the Gustav line. The museum is maintained by a group of enthusiastic friends, who are very hospitable. Almost all the objects on display have been found themselves or are donations from the local population. They have partnered with the "Italian Dog Tag return project" to find relatives of soldiers who fought in Italy and have already handed over a number of personal items to the surviving family members. The museum is a "must do" if you are in the area of Monte Cassino.
