Very quaint and very good! The owner visited our table and requested our desires for the evening meal. At least 5 appetizers and then the spectacular whole fish. With surgeon like precision the 7 pound fish was served with potatoes. The potatoes tasted like potatoes should. Don't pass this up!

Ambiente elegante e soft.. servizio veloce e attento, pietanze molto buone.

My wife and I were recommened to eat there when staying nearby for 2 weeks. We ate there 5 times! Food is excellent and masterfully selected and prepared. All local produce, meat and game. Chef/owner is also a sommelier and has a fantastic wine list from low to high. I highly recommend.

I have been here with my family and we were extremely happy with the service and the menu.
It is an interesting experiment because the chef is reinterpreting the dish of our peasant cuisine giving them a modern twist , especially with new techniques like the molecular cuisine.
I suggest to share the antipasti and try to add something else like the egg with truffle or the grilled caciocavallo with berry compote.
The mains are all good: we had mainly meat ,fillet with porcini mushroom, one of the guest choose the fish and another picked up the soup: excellent quality and honest portions, all very well executed.
We had as dessert the famous "bocconotti"(very good) and also the apple in jar with the cream( some guests were not very enthusiastic ).
The wine list is good , we went for the ramitello of the Di majo norante wine yard , it is one of the best we have in Molise.
Overall a beautiful experience and a great night out, also the bill was not expensive as we though , and this ticks another box in favour of this interesting bistrot.
I really recommend this place.
Well done

We returned again to one of our favorite places. My husband and I had macaroni with sausage and gorgonzola sauce..Out of this world! The waitress recognized us from last year and was really nice.Perfect service..The Osteria is very attractive and colorful, a perfect place. There is inside Seating and outside in the pizza, there are tables under large umbrellas. We ate outside in beautiful weather.

I will say up front I did not eat here, but came in after dinner. This restaurant was pushing out German food, the likes of which I haven't seen since my last trip to Berlin. They also have eight beers on tap, all German, and all at good prices. The place is lively, the staff are nice, and it's worth a stop for a beer or for dinner.

Retrogusto offers a variety of grilled meat (black angus, chianina and marchigiana) served with attention to quality and dedication to clients.A great choice of local and international jam (Jamon iberico de Bellota, Prosciutto nero casertano) served with delicious cheese is proposed with the "Tagliere degustazione". In addition to this, of course, a good Italian Pizza.
We had an absolutely delicious lunch here. The highlight was the pasta, an innovative twist on spaghetti carbonara that made use of the local Isernia onions, and had a bright orange sweet pepper sauce underneath. Really outstanding. After that, the frittata and salad were light and delicious, perfect for a hot day, and we finished off with a great combination of fresh (REALLY fresh) fruit.
But what really made the meal special were the people. The owners, Fabio and Paula, and our waitress, Sarah, were all super-friendly, and it was great chatting to them at the end of our meal. Unfortunately we only found this place on our last day in Molise, otherwise we'd have eaten here every day!

Traditional place run by female chef and crew, a few km outside Agnone.
The food was excellent, a mix of best local ingredients and expert cuisine.
Best local wines also available (try for example the Tintilia Salvatore).
A great experience that one does not forget for years. Brave!
The price was really moderate, even by local standards.
Looking forward to coming back - warmly reccomended to anyone within one hour drive from the place.
