We went there in the evening around 6 p.m. so it wasn't so hot already. Walk took about 1 hour from the Polychrono center, and it was uphill almost all the time :) The view on the way there is quite nice, you can see the village and the sea from the hill. Pond itself is small, but there are a lot of turtles in it - small, big ones :) Some of them were quite friendly, they went out of the water to meet us (or most likely they just wanted some snacks from us). But guys, please, don't feed them with bread, cookies, or anything of this sort - this food is not good for them. Just make some pictures and relax :)

Polichrono Beach

Reviewed By Familia_Masson - Oxted, United Kingdom

We drove here from Kriopigi as we needed a beach close by (hubby had a 3 hour online meeting so had to stay at hotel) but wanted to make use of the car we had hired and are glad we did as despite all the negative comments we had read, we had a wonderful day! We found a spot away from the hotels with umbrellas and sunbeds (we had brought our own beach tent that we’ve taken every time we settle for beach holidays and food so didn’t need to be near the bars) and accessed a quieter section of the beach via a short pathway through derelict land... The water was calm, warm, crystal clear and shallow for quite far out! The beach is sandy but pebbly at the water line and then continued about 5m out into the sea. We got there at 10.30am and it wasn’t until around noon that more people started descending. The afternoon also brought choppier waters but was still good to swim in! Of the beaches we’ve been to on this holiday (Kriopigi/Aktaion, Possidi and Polichronos), this was our favourite for swimming conditions.
