The Peloponnese (/ˈpɛləpəˌniːz/) or Peloponnesus (/ˌpɛləpəˈniːsəs/; Greek: Πελοπόννησος, Pelopónnēsos) is a peninsula and geographic region in southern Greece. It is separated from the central part of the country by the Isthmus and Gulf of Corinth. During the late Middle Ages and the Ottoman era, the peninsula was known as the Morea (Greek: Μωρέας), a name still in colloquial use in its demotic form (Μωριάς).

A must for anyone interested in seeing the sites associated with the ministry of the Apostle Paul, as well as the history, religion, and culture of the area from ancient Greek through the Roman period. For those especially interested in the Erastus inscription, be aware that it's located on the grounds around the theater, which is an area separate from the rest of the site. Cross the parking lot from the ticket office and bear to your left, and you'll see the steps down to the theater grounds, and you'll see the area marked off where the inscription is located.

Really interesting Byzantine medieval fortified city on a hill overlooking the surrounding valley. Do wear decent shoes, there's a lot of steep steps and rocky pathways. Allow half a day for the complete site, upper and lower levels.

The well-preserved ruins of the Mycenaean acropolis and Citadel of Tiryns are more than 3,000 years old. Mycenaean archaeological site in Argolis in the Peloponnese, some kilometres north of Nauplion.
I really do like coming here, it is an amazing site. The scale of the ruins is fabulous, and the walls are incredibly thick and impressive. You can walk around the site, and there will be few other visitors, if any. The palace is area is good, the only problem is that there are no information boards at all, except ones telling you about the restoration, not the history etc.

'The first city with civilization which faced the sun and showed the other cities how they should be built. Pausanias' Ancient city of Lykosoura with the temple of Despoina was one of the most sacred cities at Arkadia. At modern times the small village at the base of the Peloponnisian ' Olympus' mountain Lykeo gives harmony to the visiters. You can find it inside a deep forrest. The village is crossed by a small river.
