November 4, 2021 Natalie Tallman

In the "city of dreaming spires," academia takes center stage. Gaze out at Oxford's world-famous university from the top of Carfax Tower before heading into the city's pedestrian-friendly streets. Follow your nose to the Covered Market for the makings of a picnic to enjoy at Headington Hill Park. Mix the historic and modern with visits to the 12th-century village church of Iffley and trendy Cowley's ethnic shops and music venues.

Oxford at nightfall...The crowds are dispersing, and the deserted, gloomy streets await us. The Oxford Ghost Tour will lead you away from the bustle and noise of central Oxford into the eeriest parts of the city, the domain of demons, dark deeds, the Devil, and death. All the accounts are based on documented events. They feature not only paranormal manifestations, but also gruesome executions and heart-rending deaths, some from eye witness testimony. You will hear spine-chilling stories from the city's bloody past and of the spirit entities it has left behind. You will see the locations where the apparitions have revealed themselves, and may do again. You might sense their presence, feel their touch, hear their groaning, smell their putrefaction.

In 1987 John Thaw hit the British TV screens as the iconic Inspector Morse and Oxford has not been the same since! A total of 33 episodes were filmed over a period of thirteen years on the streets of Oxford (although a couple were not filmed in Oxford). The years 2006 – 2015 were the Lewis era, during which Lewis and Hathaway tried to make the streets of Oxford safe. We now have the prequel, Endeavour, and a new season is currently being filmed. On this 1 hour and 45 mins small-group walking tour, your specialist and fully qualified guides (member of The Institute of Tourist Guiding and The Oxford Guild of Tour Guides) who have witnessed the filming and met the cast will be delighted to show you some of the scenes, although they cannot promise to cover over 80 hours of filming in just two hours! No children under 16. Adult tickets required.

An amazing and informative tour. I have done a few of the tours of the larger distilleries but love the back story behind this distillery. The enthusiasm for their work and passion is evident in their product and they go out of their way to stay true to their vision. The tour gives you the opportunity to taste their impressive range of products which gets everyone talking! Love the laidback feel to the whole organisation. Well worth the money you will not be disappointed. Different and imaginative range of gins. Definitely added a few to our collection.
