What to do and see in Oslo, Eastern Norway: The Best Tours

September 9, 2021 Enriqueta Cusson

The 1000-year-old Norwegian capital sits at the head of Oslo Fjord. This stunning setting gives hints of the wild wonders that lie just beyond the city. From taking in visual delights at Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Viking Ship Museum, the Munch Museum and Holmenkollen, to the challenging content within the new Nobel Peace Centre and the Holocoust Center, Oslo offers plenty of food for thought. The Oslo Pass allows free travel on public transport, free parking and many museum and sight admissions.

Family Zoom tour of Oslo! Our family from all over the USA had the very best experience with Craig! He was amazing. Three generations of us were able to experience a private walking tour of Oslo "together". We were supposed to travel to Norway on March 20, 2020 but the pandemic prevented our travel. Thanks to OURWay, we got to have two hours in Oslo. I can't recommend this tour higher. Absolutely spectacular and I would definitely recommend this tour in person or on Zoom!! Dawn

Tailor-made full-day service (max 8 hours). Give us your travel details and we'll propose an itinerary. Please look at the other tours or our website to get inspired. Choice of luxury vehicle according to number of people in your group. You have the car and the guide at your disposal all day to drive you around and accompany you on a guided walk. Oslo City Center is quite small, and thus perfect for a walk. However, a majority of the city’s highlights are on the outskirts of Oslo, such as the great Vigeland Sculpture Park and the Holmenkollen ski- and recreation area (with the best panorama view of the city!). There is also the "museum peninsula" of Bygdøy, just across the bay, where you will find the Viking Ship Museum, the open-air Folk Museum, the Fram (Polar) Museum, the Maritime Museum and the Kon-Tiki raft expedition Museum.  There are nice restaurants up in the hills or by the fjord for a lunch and/or dinner break We'd gladly recommend one..

Inclusions: Private tour, Comfortable Limousine, Van or Mini-bus, Airport or Hotel pickup and drop-off, Bottled water, Local licensed Driver/guide, Live commentary on board

Exclusions: Entrance fees for museums, Restaurants

We can not recommend Svein highly enough! We experienced many tour guides during our time in Norway, both private tours and tours with a group of 60. Svein was by far our favorite guide. He was kind and attentive, and found fun places to take us that weren’t the same typical tourist things we had already seen. We had tours both in sedan and van and both were very comfortable. He took excellent care of us and provided lots of laughs as well as an incredible amount of interesting information. If we come back - he will be our first call!!

I didn't know Oslo could be so entertaining until I embarked on this tour. Everything is encapsulated within a leisurely stroll around the city. You not only get to try some tasty food, you also get the background as to why you are eating said food. This to me is A+ as it is...but wait...there is more. Along your 'one foot in front of the other' endeavor you shall also hear about the culture of the city and how things have changed over the past....for better or worse. You can also test your knowledge with a little quiz that is included in the works. There is much more I could say but that's for you to hear from the guides. These guys are ever so friendly and it honestly felt like a day out with mates. Thank you for a great day out with tasty treats ;)

Booked this trip with a 50% deposit in January. Due to the pandemic, we are not trying to cancel but move the tour to 2021 when we rebooked our cruise. Been trying to reach Bjorn and company for almost 6 weeks and no response - left messages, emails, et cetera. The US Phone number has been disconnected, email response is non-existent. I always book private tours with only reputable tour groups - not sure what is going on but I am out a considerable sum for a 6 person party. Buyer beware - they may have been a good reputable company but to not even respond in months is unacceptable and buyer beware!

If you like shrimps and wooden boats, then you don't want to miss this. Very well spend money as you really have shrimp buffet, which will not run out. During our visit it was also season for some crabs so the buffet was even bigger. Especially end of the season remember to have warm clothes (even hat and mittens) as the evening is cold. Really pleasant journey.
