We had a BLAST here!! Our family has been to multiple ranches and this one was BY FAR the best! Beautiful horses and trails. Their animals are so well cared for and it shows. Lori and Jazmin are super sweet and helpful, they made us feel so comfortable and even donated material to our young sons workshop for future projects! We HIGHLY recommend this place for anyone looking for a fun day - you won’t be disappointed!!

We have been here many times with our weekend visitors from age 3 to 90. It is always a joy to return and see the improvement in the animals as they are socialized and brought back to health after bad experiences . Even though it was raining our young visitors were insistent that they had their annual trip to the farm .Today the large horse that had been attacked by a mountain lion was so friendly and bowed to us. Such a change since the first time we saw him. Today our young visitors were feeding the animals with carrots and picking up the newly born hens. Thanks to the founder and the many volunteers that share their stories about the animals and make th visit enjoyable.

Tweed Visitor Centre

Located in an abandoned Hershey’s factory in Smiths Falls, the Tweed Visitor Centre is more than a window into the world of cannabis - it’s a fascinating look into the past, present and future of our favourite plant. From the moment you arrive to peeking into working grow rooms, your senses will be engaged and your minds opened as you explore the history, science and culture of cannabis. An educational theatre experience challenges preconceptions and highlights society’s changing relationship over 10,000 years. Discover the complexities of the cannabis plant and learn about the role of terpenes, and witness our bean to bar artisanal chocolate production. Finish off your tour with a cup of coffee, browse through our collection of books, and stop by the gift shop for something special to remember us by. We hope this behind-the-scenes tour will broaden your understanding of cannabis and inspire new perspectives.

From entering the parking lot to the end of the tour, we really enjoyed speaking with the employees. Special shout-out to Rebecca ("Blue") and John for the great tour which was well organized, informative and interesting. The factory itself is unbelievable clean! We were greeted in the parking lot by some of the staff on their lunch break. They were all really friendly and smiling. At the end of the tour we milled about in the merchandise area and had nice, informative conversations with Blue and some other female staff. We really liked Blue in particular for her warm, friendly manner. She is definitely a good representative to be the 'Face for Tweed'. Don't ever let her...or John leave!

We are a group of nature lovers and decided to book a cottage there for a weekend getaway. It was a unique experience for us. The cottage was clean, comfy, well furnished, and a decent place to stay. There’s also a nice restaurant close by. The highlight of the trip was the Canopy Walk tour, with canoeing and hiking. It was fun and we love it!! Ted and Page were amazing in their jobs. If you love nature and the outdoors, Haliburton Forest is the place to be...Lakes, forest, trails, wildlife...We got to see the wolves at the Wolves Centre and strong packs of huskies (for winter dog sledding). The staff were nice and very helpful. Be aware that there’s a swarm of mosquitoes (in June). Just come prepared. Other than that, it was our first time in HFWR and we had a great time. Highly recommended.

We had the best time today learning how to snowboard with instructor Chris K. He was kind, courteous, fun, taught us how to snowboard and even took some pics/videos of us. We could tell that he does this with passion, it's not just a job. We fell a couple of times but for first timers I think we did pretty good. Chris was very helpful starting from ground 0 and building it up to toeing down hill (that's hard :) The hill is so beautiful, with many runs to choose from. We did one run on the Wizard run and that was fun. We would definitely recommend the resort to everyone looking for a nice place to learn and have fun. A couple of notes: buy tickets online if you can, you'll save money and time.

It was a gorgeous early August day, later we went swimming on a small beach in the park. I highly recommend visiting this park, which is an easy drive from both Kingston and Ottawa .
