The magnificent brick building with its amazing Gothic entrance is very hard to describe because it is so huge and apparently the largest brick Cathedral in that part of the world. But... when you enter inside that is when your breath is taken away...it is beautiful. Although it is a French Cathedral the Art is Italian and it is spectacular. I actually visited more than once because I could not absorb everything. The history, the color, the Art ,amazing and a definite "must see" in Albi.

When we decided to explore Toulouse, we headed directly to the Musee d'Archaeologie ...and found it right beside the basilica...so after the museum we toured it as well. A lovely church with and interesting crypt with reliquaries...always great to immerse in local history.

This is certainly a beautiful church worthy of exploring. You definitely get a feel that it was meant to be a bit bigger, but, it has a lot of amazing art in every nook and cranny. One really interesting item is an apparent crypt cemented in by a covering with four skull and crossbones figures - one on each corner. Being close to the sea, it makes you wonder...

I visited this historic ( it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the body of St. Thomas Aquinas has been there since 1369) and beautiful church during a Sunday mass. This is an active church with a dedicated congregation. I, along with other visitors, were quiet and respectful of the mass. It was acceptable to very quietly walk the inside perimeter and to unobtrusively take photos (make sure your camera or smart phone is set so that the “click” is silent - the clicking sound when a photo is taken is disruptive). It is difficult to describe the beauty and serenity of this space - the arches, windows, altars, parishioners, and stonework of the structure itself. This is a must-see place.

We absolutely loved visiting here. Imagine a real life medieval town, Harry Potter fans would love this place. I loved everything thing about it .... from the cobbled streets, the amazing turrets, to the fantastic shops, the incredible history and being able who walk around in a living city with so much history. The church had gorgeous stained glass windows. Go here, it is amazing!

Jardins de la Fontaine are really beautiful gardens. There are many water features, ponds and canals, as well as some remains from the Roman times, and there is a huge area you can wander around and enjoy and just relax. The garden was constructed sometime in the 17th century.
