Sail Lunenburg with Star Charters

Built in 1948 in Denmark for Danish Royalty, the Eastern Star a 48 foot Ketch that has now been doing sailing tours in Lunenburg since 1993 is a beautiful 2 hour tour of the Lunenburg Harbour and Bay. Learn some history of the working waterfront, see the fishing boats up close, or any other visiting tall ships that may be in port. Get the rare opportunity of sailing along side the Iconic Bluenose ll on certain trips. Sail time's are 11:00, 1:30, 4:00 and 6:30 The 6:30 sail being the sunset sail, which is incredible to watch the sky change over the already picture perfect town of Lunenburg on your way back in to the dock. Suitable for all ages, children love to learn what makes the sail boat glide along the water with chances to take the helm and raising sails. Big kids also like that part to! We are fully under sail, motor is off, so the sails do the work for us, and expect the boat to Keel over as the sails fill with wind, but don't worry your safe at all times! All Aboard!

Gaff Point Trail

Reviewed By Justtravelling4 - Halifax, Canada

We thoroughly enjoyed hiking this trail, it really had a little bit of everything. A beautiful beach, stunning water views, and stunning treks through wooded areas. The walk through the fir trees was one of my favourite portions of the trail, the smell was amazing. There are some exposed roots in places and the walk across the beach rocks is a little challenging on the ankles, but overall a pretty easy to moderate trail. I recommend walking the farm land area over the hill instead of the entire beach as it gives you a break from the sea rocks. The owners have it marked and don’t mind as long as the horses are not in the field. Once you get to the loop we went to the right first. It means you finish on the water view side of the trail. The trail in total including walking Hirtle Beach is about 6.6 km. We finished the entire trail in about 90 mins, this included stopping for pics etc. I highly recommend for anyone of any age, definitely a trail I’d return to.

We were visiting family and hadn't gotten a chance to celebrate our anniversary, discovered an escape room on our last day in town- New Year day (holiday). I contacted the staff via email to confirm availability and they got back to me immediately and were happy to come in and set everything up for us even though they had no bookings for the day. We had a fantastic time! very grateful for the accommodating staff who took time from their holiday to help us celebrate! Great for small groups, couples, families, work team building... a fantastic way to spend a rainy day in town while you wait for laundry etc.
