Quiet relaxing stay in Bridgewater NS

The hotel is just located on the outskirts of town, but easy and quick enough to drive into it. Rooms are large, clean, as were the room facilities. No microwave, but has a small fridge. Restaurant on property was excellent and breakfast offered was good with regular selections offered. Close to shopping and other chain restaurants. Would highly recommend a stay here.

We truly enjoyed our stay from start to finish. We arrived after the office closed, but were greeted with a welcome letter and clear guidelines about how to access our room. Effort has been made to preserve the historical integrity of the inn while integrating the comforts of modern life. The location was convenient for attending our concert at The Lunenburg Opera House. The room was comfortable and clean. The inn managed to provide a delicious breakfast in a COVID safe manner. The dining area is bright and spacious. We will certainly plan to return.

The room is fine. The wifi is iffy. The motel is located just a few minutes beyond a high hill overlooking Lunenberg. This same high hill provides one of the best glimpses of old town Lunenberg. The motel itself does have nice views of the Atlantic Ocean as well as a pond behind the rooms.

Lovely rooms, the loft room in particular has a jacuzzi and a very European style. Staff are pleasant and helpful. You’re one block away from all of the restaurants and gift shops. The hotel took a big hit during Covid and is demolishing their restaurant, but there are plenty of greats places to eat nearby.

Just outside the old town, quiet and comfortable

Reviewed By SMTas

We stayed two nights. The motel is an older establishment with the rooms in parallel blocks up the hill behind the house/reception, and well away from the road. Comfortable, very clean, room with good beds, small bathroom, alcove for tea/coffee making and including a microwave. Opening windows, parking at the door. Being so far from the road it was very quiet, and windows could be opened for nice fresh air. The motel is about 1.5km from the old town, a very pleasant walk. There is a supermarket next to the motel, and a Tim Hortons across the road from that. At the time we stayed the biggest bonus was that you were removed from the dreadful smell in the old town (caused by ongoing drainage problems) though hopefully that is all fixed by now. Lunenburg, apart from being an interesting historic town (and in that vein, don't miss nearby Mahone Bay which is very beautiful), is a good place from which to explore Western Nova Scotia, and is far cheaper and easier paced than Halifax.

The food in the dining room was beyond exceptional and the new owner, Mark Trask, has done wonders in reinvigorating the Inn and instilling a comfortable and welcoming environment. Can’t wait to go back!
