Church of St Peter & St Paul

A feast of incredible talent and top performers going to an extra level, as the heart energy of worship, lifted their music out of the secular every day. Tibetan bowls, Irish whistles, amazing sax playing by Patsi Gamble, rocking drums from Rob Mason, percussion, strings, keyboards and vibes at their best. And then the voices Reg Candler's melodic tones, Lauren Rimmel, Suzy Dion, Matt Worley, Ollie, Abigail Kelsey, Julian Crook, the veuve of Emily Campbell, Phil Hardy, Toby Shayan, Tom Hill, Poli Palmer and Bill Hunt, Gerry and Gill Hopkin,. Awesome guitar, mandolin and base Steve Gibbons touched our hearts with "You gotta serve somebody" . Gordon Jackson nailed "it's something you get through" but, for me the top tingle factor came from Phil Capaldi's emotionally rich performance of his brother Jim's lyrics "Love's got a hold on me." Thank you Northleach church volunteers for making this amazing event happen, giving of your time and making it a great evening for raising so much for vital charities. Thank you Bishop Roger Morris for amazing links. And what a joy to be in the inspirational setting of the great wool church.

The Old Prison

The Old Prison, formerly a House of Correction, is a fascinating 18th Century Grade II* listed building in the Cotswold market town of Northleach. Today it serves as a popular and rather unique Kitchen & Café serving artisan coffees, brunch classics, homemade cakes, lunchtime specials and afternoon teas, all made with locally sourced ingredients. Complementary access is available to the original Prison Cells and Court Room and the fully enclosed garden with outdoor seating houses the Lloyd-Baker wagon collection. The centre is also home to the Cotswolds National Landscape offices and the Cotswolds Radio station.

I took my pet humans there for breakfast this morning - 20th February - because it was their anniversary. Wow! A gravy bone on entry, another when the dishes came to the table AND a hug and stroke from the lovely waitress. We often pass by there on my walkies but I will insist on me dragging them in in future!!!!!! I enjoyed mine and I could see they enjoyed their bacon rolls and cuppa's!!! Also looked around the prison and court and the display of farm machinery. I didn't like the look of the cells so will be a good girl in future. Bella the black lab.
