Showcasing the work of leading wildlife artist Robert E Fuller, this gallery is a must for anyone who loves the countryside. On show are detailed paintings, limited edition prints and photographs of wildlife from around the world. Informative films and live nest cameras relaying footage from cameras hidden in animal nests in the surrounding countryside are also available to watch. Robert is recognised as a leading authority on wildlife and his TV animal documentaries have been broadcast internationally. He spends months in the field watching and photographing wildlife and this depth of understanding makes his work sing out. Original oil paintings and bronze sculptures of wildlife all come to life through his inimitable, realistic style.
Wonderful relaxing visit after a local walk to see the beautiful animals and birds on nest cam and paintings.

Artist Stacey Moore opened her first gallery in 2016, in her hometown of Hawes, North Yorkshire. The small gallery showcases Stacey’s impressive animal coloured pencil drawings, influence by the Yorkshire Dales. The gallery is a unique and welcoming place, which you can often watch Stacey drawing on site. There is a large range of limited edition prints, one off originals, stationery and gifts.
Such a talented artist and her work is so strikingly sharp that you can almost imagine stroking the fur of many delightful animals. Coloured pencils taken to a whole new level.

***Please book your visit in advance via the website to guarantee availability. The gardens, restaurant for takeaway drinks, toilets, play area and parkland are open for local visitors to exercise in. The hall, galleries and shop remain closed.*** Inspired by his Grand Tour, John Bourchier created Beningbrough; an Italian Palace nestled between York, Harrogate and Leeds. A working walled garden, grand herbaceous borders, sweeping lawns and a play area for children to let off steam, creates a year round garden. RHS Chelsea Gold Award winner Andy Sturgeon is working with the garden team to transform the gardens and so far they've created the ha-ha walk with 300,000 spring bulbs and the Pergola. Further developments currently paused so the Mediterranean Garden is sown with wildflower seeds to add colour and interest for nature and visitors alike. The restaurant uses the daily harvest in their menus with a selection of takeaway option for your refreshments.

Worth visiting on three counts, to see inside the former Old Town Hall building, to see a fascinating collection of paintings, posters, photographs and drawings related to the area and, when ww visited, to see a temporary exhibition of the work of Yorkshire artist Ian Mitchell, which I loved. The building was built as the Old Town Hall in 1812 and looks quite modest from the outside. Inside, the main hall has had a number of uses through its life including as a theatre where performers included Lily Langtry and Oscar Wilde. Today the art displays are arranged so that you can still appreciate the architecture of the Hall. A friendly welcome is given on arrival and there is a good shop. Plus, the gallery has free admission.
