Jardin Vauban

Reviewed By SergeLourie - Richmond-upon-Thames, United Kingdom

This is a small park across the river from the magnificent Vauban Citadelle and is really worth a visit. It has an attractive lake, a man made cave, a puppet theatre as well as memorials to local Charles de Gaulle and casualties of war shot by the nazis during the occupation. It is extremely well maintained and can, because it is quite small, be visited in under an hour. It would be a good place to have a picnic and is by the Bistrot Cantine across the river. It is around half an hour's walk from the city centre.
