At the 2001 Census, Newtownabbey Urban Area had a population of 62,056, making it the fourth largest settlement in Northern Ireland. It is part of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council.

I visited Loughshore Park today and the steel silhouette bandstand sculpture by artist Skelton Rainey looked amazing in the autumn sunshine. There was also a double rainbow in the sky. I am reminded of William Wordsworth's famous poem: My Heart Leaps Up When I Behold My heart leaps up when I behold A rainbow in the sky: So was it when my life began; So is it now I am a man; So be it when I shall grow old, Or let me die! The Child is father of the Man; And I could wish my days to be Bound each to each by natural piety.

Really nice pub with traditional Irish music and great choice of drinks! Also the staff is lovely! You shouldn't miss it!

On arriving at the garden centre it was a lovely afternoon. I have just recently took up gardening and was looking for advise on what to put into my garden for year round colour. Entering the garden centre I was greeted by a polite member of staff saying good afternoon, I was showed a range of plants that would do my job. We decided we would go for a Coffee and a traybake seeing as the kids were with us. It was fantastic! Play area for the 2 kids and we got peace and quiet to enjoy our coffee! Will definitely be back, the staff are second to none in both the garden centre & Coffee shop. Look forward to returning.

Looks really well when driving through Ballyrobert and great that you can climb all over it - could do with lights to see it in the dark
