What to do and see in New Zealand, New Zealand: The Best Spas & Wellness

May 30, 2021 Joeann Galban

New Zealand (/njuːˈziːlənd/ ( listen); Māori: Aotearoa [aɔˈtɛaɾɔa]) is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country geographically comprises two main landmasses—the North Island (Te Ika-a-Māui), and the South Island (Te Waipounamu)—and around 600 smaller islands. New Zealand is situated some 1,500 kilometres (900 mi) east of Australia across the Tasman Sea and roughly 1,000 kilometres (600 mi) south of the Pacific island areas of New Caledonia, Fiji, and Tonga. Because of its remoteness, it was one of the last lands to be settled by humans. During its long period of isolation, New Zealand developed a distinct biodiversity of animal, fungal and plant life. The country's varied topography and its sharp mountain peaks, such as the Southern Alps, owe much to the tectonic uplift of land and volcanic eruptions. New Zealand's capital city is Wellington, while its most populous city is Auckland.

Hot Tubs Omarama

This is such an attractive facility with 9 or 10 private hot tubs. Large or smaller towels can be hired, which we opted for rather than trying to dry towels. The time slot is 90 minutes. We didn’t stay that long but it was lovely. The temperature of the water can be easily adjusted to suit, and we were provided with carafes of chilled water and glasses. Relaxing and lovely. Worth the quite high price tag.

The Spa at Nugget Point exceeded our expectations! The outdoor hot tub had beautiful views over looking the river. I had the dry brushing, sugar scrub and massage treatment. The spa rooms are exquisite with the details of tile, there was a shower in the treatment room and had the best spa treatment I’ve ever experienced, truly amazing! Liniah was my therapist and very attentive! We had the bruschetta served in the indoor marble pool room , you also have access to pool, sauna and steam room! We spent 4-5 hours and had a remarkable time! Thanks

What a fabulous experience. Truly felt pampered from the welcome with ginger tea, the romantic spa bath with loads of bubbles, cold drinks and nibbles to the long massage. We each had a different type of massage. One was more relaxing as the knots were released and eased away. The other much firmer to try and relieve the serious tension - two days later we are feeling the benefits. They asked us through out the massage if the pressure was OK and adjusted accordingly. Impeccable service would definitely like to return.

Loved my deep tissue massage with Dani, best massage I’ve had in a very long time. She was extremely knowledgeable and tailored my massage for my work related aches and pains. It was a firm massage without being painful and I felt a whole lot looser afterwards. Would highly recommend and I will definitely be back!

I walked past and noticed a sign that offered a free 5-10 minute massage to see what a thai massage was like, so I headed in and was lucky enough to get Sara. From the first minute I was hooked and quickly booked in a further half an hour (only because that's all the time I had) and it was the BEST MASSAGE I'VE EVER HAD! When I left I quickly made another appointment for my husband and I the following evening. I tried the hot stone massage and had Nicha (again it was amazing!!) my husband had Paa and went for the thai massage. He left saying the same.. BEST MASSAGE EVER!! Can't recommend this place enough, will definitely be back!!

Our 2 hrs at at Salt Cave Wellness Centre was a great experience. The Vibrosaun was very therapeutic and the Salt Cave was incredibly relaxing. Prashant was a lovely guy and informative host. Definitely would recommend.
