Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is a natural wonder on nearly 300 acres of shorefront in mid-coast Maine. Strolling through spectacular ornamental gardens and traversing miles of waterfront and woodland trails, visitors are delighted by the beautiful plantings, impressive stonework, waterfalls and fountains, and scenic views. It's no wonder the Gardens have been hailed as one of Maine's top three attractions. The Gardens are open 9-5 April 15 - October 12. There is a cafe and gift shop on site. A visit at any time is a memorable experience.

Great way to start the Christmas season. Wear warm clothes and gloves. You need comfortable warm, walking shoes or boots. There are lots of paths to walk with wonderful Christmas lights, Fairies Houses, displays and make sure you buy the s'more kit in the snack shop and roast s'mores on a fire. They have helpers to get the job done. THERE is kettle corn, s'mores, cookies, hot chocolate and coffee, Best Buy. Popcorn is crazy. It is great kind of corny but I think bad was $9

There are two places to park. One parking lot holds about 8 - 10 cars and is on the same level as the garden. The other lot is lower and on the level with the highway. From the lower lot there are some steep looking stairs. We opted for the easier choice. There is no charge for admission, but a $5 donation is requested. It is well worth it. Large, well-tended flower beds were in full bloom when we visited in mid-September. It was very colorful.

No trip to Boston is complete without walking through these gardens! Located downtown and right beside Boston Commons, this is a beautiful spot to stroll through on a sunny day and stop and sit. You can see squirrels, ducks, beautiful flowers in season, ride the swan boats, see the duck statues, see the fountains, and enjoy the day!

After visiting Manchester dozens of times, we finally went to HIldene and can't believe we didn't go before. The entrance fee seemed pretty high, but surely that is needed to support the maintenance and operation. You could spend much of a day touring the historic house and restored Pullman car (with great docents to give insight into what you're seeing), visiting the goats and farm, and hiking or skiing the trails.

Originally built for a wealthy merchant family, and later the residence of one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, this splendid home features an elegant 18th-century garden, interesting carvings, and much of the original furniture. Guided tours of the house are available June 1 through mid-October, Monday-Saturday 11am to 5pm and Sundays 1-5pm. Tours last 45-60mins and are $8 for adults, $2.5 for children (6-12) and children under 6 are free. To tour the garden on your own is just $2 per person.

This is a beautiful park with lovely pond and famous Rose Gardens; also Heirloom Rose Garden and stunning Shade Gardens, Tulip Gardens, Perennial Garden, Iris Garden, Herb Garden and more.The accreditation of Elizabeth Park's Kim Arboretum occurred in 2019. Wedding ceremonies in the Rose Garden and other gardens are frequent. The Pond House Restaurant has (seasonal) outdoor seating options as well as indoor seating year round. Food is very good; decor is eclectic - something for everyone - and reasonably priced. There is also a lovely wedding/event venue in the building. There are well-used walking trails, green houses, a playground and more.

We have been to Green Briar a couple of times now since we have been visiting in Sandwich. It is a cozy little center with beautiful wild flower gardens and a great early 20th kitchen which was utilized for making home-made jams to sell to the public. Nowadays you can sign up for a class and make various jams depending on which fruits are in season. My husband and I took the class and enjoyed it very much. Emmalee was the teacher and she is very organized and patient. By the end of class we each had five 4 ounce jars of jam to take home with us. Check out Green Briar the next time you are in the area and see what it has to offer you.

This bridge is beautiful and worth a visit if you are in the area. There are also some great art and gift shops nearby so you won’t be sorry if you stop off in Shelburne Falls for an hour or two.

This place is a really cool place. The suggested donation is $2 per person. They have There is meter parking on the street.There are about 4 different greenhouse. The door tells you if it is hot or cold. The plants and trees are spectacular. There is also an outside area that you can walk around.
