Ngapali Elephants Sanctuary

Reviewed By veroniquef180 - Zurich, Switzerland

What an wonderful experience. We were picked up on time by the owner Aung Aung which then took us to the property where we met three Elephants, the baby, her mom and sister. We first bathed them in a muddy bath, after we cleaned our selves, we went to their playground, walked through the forest, fed them and spent time with them, such well-behaved Elephants, well the little one was a bit cheeky. We continued to walk up the forest to a high point climbed into a tree house (a little bit scary) and watched the sunset , it was so beautiful and peaceful. Aung Aung explained a lot about the Elephants and you can ask him loads of question, on top, he is a very good photographer. Once the evening is over, he will send you all the beautiful pictures. Come Once Come Again. Well Done Aung Aung.

Gaw Yan Gyi Island - GYG

Reviewed By Dorarose-el - Yangon (Rangoon), Myanmar

I went Gawyangyi island last week with my bff.We used about only 40$(60000mmk)for 1 person. That's amazing, right? Highway bus cost 14$ for a person. Highway bus can reach Nga yoke Kaung village. And then we rode motor boat, and after motor cycle ,and then we rode motor boat again. But you need to contact the hostel before you go. We joined Thiri San hostel. They arranged above those 3 ways. They're so kind and lovely. The room charge is 6$ for one person. It's just only for room. You can get fresh and delicious seafood there. You can feel this place is really peaceful and totally 100% nature life. Clear blue sky ocean, small crabs and their home, group of small fishs, hermit-crabs,and a lot of shells are totally amazing. And you need to go to the Mya Waddy Pagoda(Gaw Yan Gyi island view point) and Lakechyi beach. You just need to request the Thiri San hostel.#Noted: you need to bring shampoo, soap, power bank because the hostel is own by local villagers and they give electric light from 6 to 12pm and no aircon.

Thaketa Crocodile Farm

Great place! Tricky to find as ended up going through the back entrance but very cheap only 1000kat and you see big ones and little ones. You can pay 1000kat for a bucket of fish to feed the crocodiles there are so many. Would defo recommend. A great trip out plus very affordable. Also for another 1000kat the guy there gives you a little show with the crocodile. You can hold the baby’s and he plays with the medium sized ones.

Peik Chin Myaung Cave

I did not expect so many different cave chambers! The walking path goes on and on from one to the next, with interesting lighting displays and many diverse grottos with different style Buddha images and mini pagodas and fake trees
