Reviewed By 619je - Keysborough, Australia

On first impression, one might think that Christ Church is a Catholic place of worship, as it is built in a Renassance style that would not be out of place in northern Italy. It is, however, a member of the Anglican Communion, following the Anglo-Catholic tradition. It is very hard to miss,. It is in Glenlyon Road, near the corner of Sydney Road. The Church has a Lady Chapel and several icons.

Reviewed By 619jeffry - Essendon, Australia

The Boer War was fiought around the turn of the 20th century between the British Empire, including Australia, and the Boers. The Boers, who were mainly farmers of Dutch origin, wanted to break away from British South Africa. Unfortunately for the Boers, they threatened the British hold on South Africa's vast wealth of gold and diamonds. The Boer War is important, as was the first time Australia went to war as a nation. The South African War statue stands in Hooper Reseeve, Brunswick. The memorial commemorates four local men, all volunteers, who did not return.
