Havmannen is a 60 ton granite sculpture of a man standing in the Rana harbour and looking towards the coast.
He may be looking towarda his former country, expecting his loved ones to arrive. Or what-ever. Sea-gulls at least find him an excellent place to defficate. But please, do go meet this chap, he is seriously cool!

We left to this trip only after seeing few pics of this beautiful place. We desided to go there with our kids (10y and 12y). Everything went smoothly but last 100m to the slottet was impossible (way too dangerous) to do without safety gear. We went down to the river but last stage was too much for us. I don't know if we took the right trail.
That was a dissapointment and we were a bit surprised that nowhere we did't see any warnings about it. Only mentioned "a bit steep"...

Just north of the city Mo i Rana you will find Arctic Circle motorcycle museum. Located just beside the mainroad E6 and the last gas station before the Saltfjellet mountain. The museum can easily be seen from the E6. The ACC motorcycle exhibition present rare vintage motorcycles from the 20s to the 70s. It also has a great war time exhibition from the battle of Norway during ww2. Visiting the museum outside the opening days?: please contact us.
