This building, one of many in the old city which was destroyed during WWII and later rebuild is very important and quite beautiful.

I used this station as a waypoint from Cologne to Hamburg for a one day visit to Hanover. The station facilities are excellent and there's a left luggage where I left my bags. €3 for using the lockers is a bit steep, but it's the same price in all train station lockers in Germany. The one I used could easily fitt my medium sized backpack, but they there’s also larger ones for €5 I think. Like many train stations in the country, the central part of the station is used to access all the platforms and there's an endless array of shops on two floors of the station. I even had my lunch and dinner at the station. There's a big departure board near the front of the station and with smaller ones dotted around. All the platforms were really easy to find, so yay for German train station designs.

The Kunstverein Hannover was founded in 1832 and is now one of the oldest and most prestigious of the circa 300 German art associations (»Kunstvereine«). Since 1856 the exhibition space of the Kunstverein Hannover is located in the Kunstlerhaus Hannover in the center of Hannover. The four to six solo and group shows put on annually with a young generation of artists are largely conceived especially for the galleries of the Kunstverein. Current international developments are shown in monographic presentations or thematic contexts. The Kunstverein Hannover has been committed to the regional art scene from the beginning. The traditional “Fall Exhibition” taking place every two years thus draws attention to the art scene in Lower Saxony and Bremen.
